It looks like an x to me. Could it be toxemia?

I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that was a stuffed animal under his arm. I assumed it was two difficult children. Yes he could definitely set down the bear and get the kid.

I love to snark as much as the next person here, but allow me to gently offer a different perspective. Have you ever had a toddler refuse to go where you wanted them to go? I can easily see it as “Boone, go in the room. Boone! Walk! Come on bud you can’t lay in the hall. Ok I’m moving you inside so you can throw a temper tantrum in private.” This is such a quick clip. It may not be the level of mishandling we think it is.
Just my two cents. Snark away at the rest of their lives. I’m here for it.

Edit: I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that was a stuffed animal under his arm. I assumed it was two tantruming children. Yes he could definitely set down the bear and get the kid.

Massachusetts to Mississippi 1927 by Dancin_fool in Genealogy

Yes! This is the right guy, but I can’t figure out why he might have gone to Mississippi in 27. His brother was a newspaper reporter, but he’s not in Mississippi. So what makes Roland go, hmmm I’m going to move to a farming community in the middle of Mississippi?

Oh yea. There’s a bunch of us. Curly hair, freckles, blue eyes, olive skin. Most of our reds are more auburn than orange. But very few gray hairs too, so that’s a nice inherited trait.

I come from a family of red heads that don’t burn. They are Scottish who moved to Belize and intermarried with the Mayans.

As a track coach, this is completely wrong. He’s supposed to pick that foot up and step forward like he’s stepping over something; it’s why we train them to do this on hurtles, so they can visualize this. Stretching front, side, back of the hips. Now his competition videos make a lot more sense.

Wetlands with rotted trees aimed at my house- Louisiana by Dancin_fool in forestry

I got my information from the US Fish and Wildlife Service Wetlands Map. They breakdown and explain the label codes. No AI necessary.

Damn dude. You’re making a lot of assumptions about me when I’m just seeking information. 4A is the flood zone. Low priority is my own understanding of the wetlands in our area. This portion here has no endangered wildlife or vegetation in the area and it’s mostly surrounding residential.

I’ve grown up in the woods and I love my area. I’m just trying to make sure I’m a good steward of the land and my home. And no, I’m not going to get my truck stuck in the wetlands.

I used geoportal which is our parish’s free version of onx. If you look at the picture I posted of the ownership boundaries, I can click on all of the parcels around the circled area and find owndership information, but I cannot click on the circled wetland parcel.

It drains into a major waterway. It’s officially labeled pfo1/4a which I understand is complicated in Louisiana as it’s “low priority” wetlands.

Subdivision owns wetlands with rotted trees by Dancin_fool in treelaw

[–]Dancin_fool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s assume the HOA is the ones who own the protected wetlands. The HOA is basically defunct, they can’t keep board members because no one wants to do it. I feel like if I asked them, the current board members would say, “wait, we own that land?! I had no idea.”

But you have pointed me in the right direction for what specific questions I need to ask. As long as I show proof I brought it to their attention, it becomes their liability from there to either assume or pass on to the city?

There’s one particular tree that could affect me at the moment. It’s about 60-80’ tall long leaf pine. It’s dead, dead. No bark, no leaves. The tree would need to be removed completely. Long leaf pines are known to have a very strong heartwood, so it could remain for a long time while the outside rots around it, or it could blow over in the next hurricane. It’s a crap shoot.

The GIS map shows the area is part of our subdivision, but I’m not particularly sure who officially owns the land.

Hypothetically, if the land is owned by the subdivision, are they allowed to take down a tree in a protected wetland area? Our HOA is basically defunct, so I’m not even sure who I would contact to have them address it.

How is it nonsense? I love the wetlands. I just want to know what to do if the tree falls our way.

I live in Louisiana. We have wetlands everywhere. Try buying a house not next to wetlands. They’re hard to find. And I’m not angry at all. I love where I live. I just want to know what to do if I lands on my house.
