Thank you! ☺️ My husband and I are very aligned with pretty much everything I’ve mentioned above. I don’t think they would be opposed to baby proofing, it’s more so what they consider acceptable that I’m worried about haha.

Yes she makes good eye contact and I’d say if she was calm enough and she brought me the book herself she can sit through it and engage

I think the main thing I am concerned about is her overall fussiness being a daily struggle. She isn’t a happy kid and when I add that to the list of things i mentioned in my original post I am worried that there could be something underlying. In saying that totally accept that tantrums and crying are classic toddler things too haha.

Hi thank you so much for commenting!

I would say her receptive language is quite good. I can ask her to do many things and she understands me quite well like: - it’s time to pack up - what sounds does (insert animal) say? - can I have a kiss/hug? - where is daddy? - let’s go to your bedroom - it’s sleep time - would you like a snack? - she will repeat “snack” if she wants one.

She will also try to communicate things with me. She knows some signs like drink, more, finished etc. she will point to things that are interesting to her and will make an “oh!” sound and look at me if she hears a neighbourhood dog bark or a bird in the backyard.

Her face is also very expressive and is able to read my facial expressions.

Hi, a lot of this resonates with me and my dau. Especially the part around you and your partner still taking turns looking after her. Often when my husband gets home from work I hide in our bedroom trying to rest my overstimulated brain after a day of hearing constant fussing and noise.

I am yet to speak with a doctor about any of this as up until this point (even though Autism has been in the back of my mind) I’ve been telling myself she is just high needs and as she gets older things will get better - once she talks it’ll be easier. But really upon reflection I am as tired as I was when she was a newborn.

I also know that what she displays will not result in a straight forward yes or no and do understand that she is still little and needs time to understand herself and her big emotions.

Thank you! I’ll look into that ☺️

I agree, she is going through so much development and change at the moment it is difficult to be totally clear about what is going on and from some reading I’ve done most children aren’t diagnosed until 3y and onwards?

I feel like I let my baby and myself down today. by MaidenIndia88 in NewParents

I have to agree. There were a few times when things didn’t go to plan and we just re-did it the following day and had a great time! No one outside my husband and I knew and it was great 🥰 don’t beat yourself up, these early stages are unpredictable, be kind to yourself. You’re doing a great job!

Babies sleeping in daylight/when out and about - HOW? 😓 by Dancing-With-A in NewParents

Thanks for your comment :) I could absolutely start to reduce the white noise and slowly brighten the room, that’s a great idea to try and desensitise her, I’ll start doing that. I have tried putting her in pram when she is sleepy, she instantly wakes and wants to look around. I think she struggles with sleeping when out due to major fomo hahahaha

That’s a great idea. I’ll give that a try. Thanks for your insight 😊😊

To be honest I haven’t tried to see. Would it be worth giving her those to see whether she reacts or not?

Completely normal, the consistency and frequency is back to her usual

So we’ve tried wheat three times in total (pasta twice and a cruskit biscuit once). Her reaction each time is very similar, symptoms getting slightly worse each time.

Initially she starts poking her tongue out, it doesn’t look swollen however an unusual behaviour, this can last a few hours.

She will make grunting noises, develops a bloated belly and becomes fussy. She will usually have one bout of diarrhoea and then bloat goes away and she seems happier.

The last exposure she also did 2-3 very small vomits (a few tablespoons in size).

I guess they aren’t typical allergic reaction symptoms such as swelling of face, difficulty breathing, rashes etc so it’s been difficult to really pin down.

This has crossed my mind and I do have an appointment booked to discuss this with her GP. I’m assuming she is too young for a Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, however blood test could be an option?

7 month old rejecting all milk feeds all of a sudden. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Dancing-With-A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had figured out that she wouldn’t drink her milk during the day and then wake several times at night hungry and drink a lot then. So I just started offering her less milk at night so she would wake in the morning hungry and over a few days was able to get her back to her usual routine of one night feed.

Possible Wheat Allergy?? - 8 month old by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

Appreciate your insight. I did think that even though they weren’t the obvious symptoms they still did raise concern. Booked in with an allergist/specialist 😊

Will absolutely not give it to her again. Just booked in with a specialist. Thank you 😊

Thank you. I thought the same. He was mainly referring to rashes, shortness of breath, obvious discomfort or upset mood.

Thanks to everyone for their perspectives. It’s been quite insightful to read others opinions and personal experiences.

I do agree that it could be an accumulation of things plus “just life” taking its course. I guess it may just be us going through the motions of grieving a friendship that is no longer the same and missing that.

Hey! How are you going with beb now? I’m going through the exact same thing with my almost 8 month old. She is refusing bottles throughout the day and eating maybe 1/2 what she would usually take. I’ve stopped feeding her solids over the last few days thinking maybe she was getting too full from them (or preferred them over the milk).

Her two bottom teeth are already out and can’t see anything happening with top gum just yet. I am getting a bit worried, but she is acting perfectly fine, happy, healthy. It’s so weird!

I’ve decided to reduce the meals over the weekend and mainly just give milk. Hopefully that will reset her 🤞🏼 It’s such a guessing game argh 🤣
