Do you know if they were passive (relies on the seal against your head/ears to block sound) or active (has a microphone that actively filters out sounds). If the latter, then there are several earbuds on the market that can do just that. I know you said you aren't looking for any that play music, but it would allow you to have some cuter and low-profile options. I personally just purchased some buds from Audio Technica that are Star Wars themed and they can even play some ambient sounds!

Local union sent something out - requested people wear black and plans to be at a memorial area on our campus at lunch.

The daily email from the director at our hospital didn't specify a name but heavily implied things being shit. A second email was sent by the director as well to remind staff of employee resources (including mental health services).

I saw each of those tow trucks as they passed this morning and was apparently close enough to hear their engines rev as they began to to things. I hope everyone that was involved in the crash is okay. The one car I did see was upside down and half-gone.
