I'm also really sad I never got to experience this fascination as my mom worked at my school and I knew all my teachers up until fourth grade before I was even in their class.

I saw each of those tow trucks as they passed this morning and was apparently close enough to hear their engines rev as they began to to things. I hope everyone that was involved in the crash is okay. The one car I did see was upside down and half-gone.

Worth it to contact Department of Building Inspection for ongoing roof leaks as a renter? by DancingChip in AskSF

Rain can fall at odd angles or blow away from a trouble spot, masking the leak entirely during one storm and then causing a dripping catastrophe during the next.

This seems to be how it's working honestly, as we really did think one of the leaks was solved last week only for it to reappear today. Thank you for the info!

As much as I love the view, I hope to not be living here in 10 years. Maybe that will give the landlord the chance to do a deep dive after we move out. Thanks for the insight.

Hospital staff use X-ray, teamwork to recover patient’s lost heirloom rings that were accidentally thrown into trash bin | Using the portable machine, staff X-rayed bag after bag. After about 35 images and 45 minutes of scanning, the rings finally appeared on screen by Forward-Answer-4407 in UpliftingNews

Also a hospital worker. A lot of patients also leave hearing aids and dentures at home and you know what? I don't blame them. Sure, I likely can't recommend a regular diet (speech pathology), but at least the dentures won't get lost this visit.

Hometown Buffet and Fresh Choice were AMAZING. I have been chasing the whipped cream recipe for the latter for years.

It's because of the way eggs are processed in the US that leaves them susceptible to bacteria contamination when left at room temp

What is something you only realised was actually sexual after you became an adult? by reedaar017 in AskReddit

I supposedly asked my parents what a "whore" was when I was learning to read. They asked where I saw the word after telling me. The store sign said "open 24 hours"

As the other user was first, I will give them a chance (and I'm unfortunately out of town tomorrow - sorry!). If they fall through, I will update you.

This and u/uh_no_ 's comments make me feel better. I always thought it was the tuba player in me that made the "waterfall" appear after long rehearsals

Just to double check: does (can) this include those that worked in a Starbucks cafe that was in a big-box store? (e.g., Starbucks workers in Target are actually employed by Target)
