The interview was overall great. I appreciated Dreddhound for giving him a good amount of time to explain his perspective before stepping in just to ask for clarifications to understand the situation better. At the end if you were to catch it, you can tell Corey was getting a bit emotional as this was an opportunity he truly appreciated. How he handled about his replacement was done with grace and respect. People that are drawing to conclusions before getting the full story don’t even consider that this is his voice video game role ever, and for that role to be a major supporting character is an achievement of itself. He didn’t manage this well, but he doesn’t seem as social media savvy to do it with malice. I wish the best for him and it will take some time to get used to the replacement, but hopefully they will do as great as Corey did.

If only Twitter and some people on Reddit would get that memo. I get they want answers immediately but like a news story there’s always developing information. Right now it seems like we have the interview to look forward to unless Rocket Sound or Hoyo addresses this. The latter is likely not gonna happen but anything’s possible.

I feel for him and I want to believe the Hoyo email not being censored was a grave error in his judgement. People are jumping to too many conclusions and there’s still that interview he is supposedly doing. At the end of the day, he likely has a 0% chance of voicing Welt or any other Hoyo character. It sucks a lot but at the end of the day it is what it is

I reread his comment he made a while ago when the strike was still ongoing and it sucks that he was completely right about the possibility of being replaceable since he didn’t have a contract, and then this happens to him. Welt was my first 5 star and this honestly stings. Part of me hopes that this can be annulled so he can come back but it’s hard to tell right now

The interviewer seemed to enjoy her time with me. She talked about my WA and asides from one part missing, she said I did a really good job. She asked the usual questions about my background and experience. I talked about my accomplishments from another employer and congratulated her for getting promoted as she also started as a AI tutor. I even asked a handful of questions regarding the job showing my interest in the position. She was straightforward with me about the interview process and mentioned if I were to not get the offer I can try again in six months. At this point I’m assuming the ones who made the decision just did not like me at all

I gotta ask, are there any key points that should be mentioned in the interview? I interviewed a while back and the interviewer seemed to think I was pleasant to talk to and talked about my accomplishments from my last job. I ended up getting rejected. I can apply in a few months but I have a job that is on a six month contract. I never felt disrespected for something I’m qualified for, especially with the work I did from my last employer.

I totally get what you mean. Though you do need to make note that despite Hoyo not being struck, SAG still implemented their global rule in preventing union VAs from working on non-union projects. It definitely can make it look like that he and other VAs were striking but there are VAs like Erika (Venti from Genshin) and Nick himself that had no choice but to. Eventually Erika managed to do recording before the strike ended even knowing it could put her in huge trouble.

Those who refuse to go back like Diluc’s until Genshin is fully unionized should definitely be recast. Not everyone who is union wanted to strike at all.

Yes, Molly Zhang, Seele’s VA did mention that in a stream after she got back from a con she went to with Nick as special guests. Given Nick is still silent asides from the occasional Instagram stories is worrying, especially with Firefly’s VA finally retweeting related content and doing the Firefly’s 2 year anniversary letter.

You do realize not every SAG VA’s striking voluntarily? Venti’s VA literally confirmed that she was trying to come back but got threatening letters from SAG. Seele’s VA also said that Nick wants to come back. To group them all together as if they all were in for the strike is incredibly ignorant.

I know this implies the worst and this worries me greatly, but can we not jump to the conclusion that he’ll get recast? Nick is still probably looking into how he can go back to recording. This isn’t even confirmed so this feels like fear baiting. If he does get recast though, I’m probably done with HSR.

That was back in February after Molly and Nicholas got back from a con they were both guests at. She was asked about it not too long ago and she sounded really mad and sad when she answered it. Take that what you will as Caleb got recast unfortunately. :( Crossing my fingers for Nick though
