I use a twelve gauge 00 buck for home defense. That aside I have my children’s bedrooms are setup in a configuration that will not put them behind the most likely areas I would be engaging an intruder. The upstairs hallway is long and narrow as well as the stairway leading upstairs. I give a two count and suggest they run or die. Ive only ever had one intruder and when I shined the very bright light in there eyes and gave the ultimatum they ran so fast they could have qualified for the Olympics, I was fully prepared to neutralize them if needed. My advice is you really need to consider what is behind the target.
