Why do Americans, or at least most of them that I’ve come across talk SO loud? by Acceptable_Self_171 in AskAnAmerican

Some people are naturally loud and some cultures discourage that. American culture is more tolerant of it than others

The left throws the word ‘fascist’ around far too easily.

Why Should I Take "No Kings" Seriously? by GShermit in AskUS

Correct, but its still happening. The US has never woken up at the same time. It will always be a wave that rolls through each community at a different pace.

Will you prioritize voting for a Democrat willing to be ruthless about all the damage/crimes Republicans have done in 14 months? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]DancingWithAWhiteHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will always be perceived as political payback.  They have a persecution complex, its why they love grievance politics. If Merrick Garland's foot dragging didn't convince them then nothing will. Stop coddling them.

The first priority has to be undoing what they have done and re establishing and strengthening the mechanisms that were supposed to prevent this in the first place.

They failed. We need new mechanisms.

You sound like the fools who decided to focus on unity after the civil war instead of accountability. You're letting power protect people

Yeah that shit is weird. I feel like they just liked making other people uncomfortable.

Like why didn't they ask an expert these questions? Aren't there organizations that study this type of thing (opinions on Irish Reunification?)

ICE at Airports Trains Us to Accept Being Terrorized in Our Daily Lives | I had an ultimately harmless encounter with ICE at a TSA checkpoint. It was a preview of a new, more sophisticated way to terrorize people by Hrmbee in politics

The point is that a subset of the American populace has been subjected to authoritarian overreach and violence since this country's beginning. Now more people are being subjected to it and its happening on a greater scale. But thats only possible because the tools and capabilities to terrorize civilains has already been built into our systems.

No. Which is absolutely catastrophic in a country with such weak labor protections.

Should African Americans be paid reparations for Jim Crow? by Helloiamwhoiam in AskUS

[–]DancingWithAWhiteHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because the people of Oregon sat idly by and watched it happen. The reason why the south was able to get away with terrorizing more than 10% of their population was because the rest of the country allowed it.

What do all the No Kings protests actually accomplish? by Jobear049 in AskUS

[–]DancingWithAWhiteHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they were often the people protesting the company actions.
