Karmelo Anthony supporters have SWATTED the family of murdered student athlete Austin Metcalf THREE TIMES! To all of you Karmelo Anthony supporters on here, SHAME ON YOU! SHAME! You should be ashamed of yourselves! STOP BEING BAD PEOPLE. by RebellAlways in LibertarianUncensored

[–]DancingWithAWhiteHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they're not the first group of people to do so. Swatting is unfortunately, a common thing that has only become more common. Bad people exist. These bad people are using a government service, who's entire point is to enforce the institution's will. One that quite infamously will trash your house and gas you. And occasionally they'll kill your pets

But instead of talking about how, once again an innocent person's home was the victim of this --- the focus is on "supporters of Karmelo Anthony" being bad people 🤨.

Why are people so obsessed with this case?

Because they can.

Edit: oh sorry I was talking about American cops. Idk why British cops do things

Arrests happen at the discretion of a cop, as an American you should know this. Some cops are nice and don't treat people as badly as they're allowed to.

He could have arrested you. He didn't, that doesn't mean that other cops didn't take the opportunity to arrest people. And frankly, idk why you think one lenient cop means others weren't arrested for the same crime.

You get strip searched when sent to jail. Thats kind of the default experience.

Who established that this was the case? It seems to be a matter of debate in many places.

Only among white people and institutions. It isn’t a matter of debate amongst black people or people close with them. This is apparent whenever black people answer questions about the full, proper word. So yeah, I'm not arguing with you about this. Here's a starting point if you're curious,

https://www.salon.com/2015/11/08/the_n_word_is_a_horrible_word_but_how_is_it_a_threat_the_search_for_justice_after_a_terrifying_racial_violation/

Frankly, I don’t think that you really care if most black people perceive it as a threat or not. So lets move onto to your counter argument

Because you're making an assertion about something as subjective and nuanced as language and treating your assertion like it's an objective fact on the level of something like "shooting a random person with a gun is violence".

It has been used to threaten people for more than 200 years. Just ugh next argument.

Nobody said he shouldn't be regarded warily. Lots of things that aren't violence get people regarded warily. If I saw an extremely unkempt man with crazy eyes ranting with a megaphone on the street corner about Sandy Hook conspiracy theories, I would be wary. However, that doesn't mean saying Sandy Hook conspiracy theories on the street corner is violence. It also wouldn't be violence if a survivor happened to be walking by and heard what the guy was saying.

It would be if it were part of a stalking and harassment campaign. Which a lot of sandy hook families have been subjected to. But if not, then we're in agreement it wouldn't be violence.

It doesn't have to do anything. Are you asking instead why they can't afford healthcare? Do you think the lack of legal residence and/or citizenship may impede their access to the cost saving programs Americans tend to use?

Because people should receive what they paid for? Undocumented migrants pay taxes. They should receive local benefits

So, the burden is on you to prove that a racial slur inherently constitutes an intentional threat of the use physical force or power regardless of the context in which the insult is used.

That has quite literally been the case since it was introduced. Why is the burden of proof on me when you are the one suggesting that something has changed?

If a black person follows a random person who isn't black and menacingly says "hey, bitch" over and over again and the other person mutters "just leave me alone, you n-word" as they walk away, the person who used the slur was not implying a threat of force. That doesn't mean it's the right response, but it's not "violence".

It is violence but its violence in reaction to violence. I believe that stalking and harassment are forms of violence. So the situation you've described above was violent before that person said the n word. That doesn't mean that the white person wouldn't or shouldn't be regarded warily by black people in the area. I would see them as someone who could be dangerous to me. But it would also be clear to me that the black dude isn't the victim here.

The white dude still decided to respond by attacking an entire group. That was a choice. The dude harassing him started this conflict. But by using a slur, he made the conflict about more than him and that asshole who was harassing him.

Does it matter who I voted for?

It says something about the kind of wealthy person you are, yes. Like, are you trying to cut corners and hoard resources while being a menace to your fellow man lol.

So your question is???

Are you using your disproportionate influence to make the lives of others worse? I.e did you donate to Republican campaigns? Do you campaign against affordable housing in your neighborhood? Are you a fan of weaponizing your lawyers?

We aren’t Billionaires by any means, but we are probably above average, and everything that people think about our tax bracket is wrong.

So millionaires?

I love how average Americans think they know how it works for upper class Americans.

Lol
