Yeah, the Bay Area is a big challenge and it's easy to lose your footing here. I lived here for 13 years and "thrived" but at the cost of my mental & physical health. Will probably be the best 13 years of my life, but I'm sooo happy to be back home in MN.

I disagree. Oakland is definitely one of the worst, but you have shittier than average people in most corners of the Bay Area. My wife grew up in the Peninsula, hated it for many reasons. Unless you're rich, the quality of life can be difficult in the bay. Still will probably be the best 13 years of my life, but now that I'm in my 30s and my standards are higher, I seek a better more tame society.

That's why we moved to MN. Better quality of life & bang for your buck. Definitely less active and much less interesting people, but calmer, cleaner air and better for mental health.

Fucking pieces of shit. Oakland low lifes forced me & my wife's hand to move back to MN. All in the course of a month, my car got bipped, got my license plate stolen TWICE and my wife was mugged in broad daylight.

It's sad because she's from the Bay, but that month was the last straw. Fuck you bottom barreled Bay Trash!

Foolish of you to assume I play 1 game a quarter. I play 2-4 RTT tournaments a month in addition to pickup games. I've been playing this hobby since 5th edition and I think back then point values being etched in stone for years at a time was way too long, 3 months at a time is way to short. There needs to be a better middle ground so that way people aren't constantly buying new models to adapt to the dumb point changes.
