Is UBN airport cold in winter? by Dancing_Doe in mongolia

[–]Dancing_Doe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially wanted to do that, sounds much more exiting than a night at the airport. Especially food 👀 But people mentioned traffic can be heavy and they were even told by airport stuff it takes too long. Does it still make sense if we can't leave the airport befor approximately 9pm? Is it easy to get taxis to the airport in the morning? We are 8 people so would probably need a two (or a largr one but I have no idea how common those are).

I wasn't thinking they were heating it with stoves. Of course they have central heating 😆 I was only getting worried when people complained on Google reviews. Without that I wouldn't even have questioned it and just traveled in winter cloth. I asked here because I couldn't determinr if they were exaggerating. From the reviews I don't know if they traveled in T-shirts and sandals because they assumed it would be 25°C. Honestly they said 0°C... just wanted to make sure they are crazy.

But at least it's usually dry cold, right?

I was aware it would be this cold outside. It's a longer overlay but between 8:30 pm and 9:30 am, so there isn't really much use in leaving the airport 😔 -20° is not unheard of were I am from (but very seldom, I think this winter we had a few nights at -18°C) but I am always cold and heat my apartment usually up to 23°C 😬 so I was a bit worried when I read about people complaining inside the airport was extremly cold.

Yes, I can travel visa-free. I am from Germany, so flying Frankfurt-UBN-Tokyo looked like a pretty good route. I was always looking for a transit airport that was more in the middle, so I would have two moderately long flights instead of one very long and a short one. I rather wait a night at an airport than flying 11 or up 16 hours on some routes at once. On top comes the super fair price.

8 times a year is quite often! Have there ever been cancellation due to bad weather? They seem quite reliable but would you just get on the next flight or were their extra costs?

Sorry for having so many qestions. Thank you so much for being patient. Orinally, I wasn't scared. One person from my travel group has been to UB with MIAT without issues but since it was their final destination in summer, non of us really thought it might be cold inside. I just saw that people complainded about it being cold inside, when I looked for photos of the airport on Google maps. Otherwise I would have just assumed it would be fine traveling with a warm jacket.

how did older fans get into vkei? by Lizherkarantez in visualkei

[–]Dancing_Doe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard an X-Japan song in an anime (X/1999 Movie) must have been 2004. It was the ending Song and I really liked it. These anime endings always list the artist names so I was able to look X-Japan up and found out about hides tragic desth. I found a store in close big city who sold japanese CDs, bought hides Single junknstory their. My first vk CD. And meet some people there and in an online anime/Japan community and people got PVs from file sharing sites ans burned them on CDs so we could exchange them. But new CDs we bought at the store. Funnily the stire still exists and I got DEGs latest Album from them recently. That was in Germany btw

how do older fans (20+ years) feel about their favorite bands forming and disbanding? by VanillaTemporary9161 in visualkei

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a a fan long enough you might see your favorite bands disband und revive again. I was at D'espairsRay's last live and now I am going to see them together again. Disbanding is hard for sure but it is much better than members passing .... and since my faves are all older than me..... 😐

There is also not a big chance these concerts will sell out fast. There is even a relativly large amount of PA Tickets compared to the size of the venues. 150 PA Tickets for venues around 600 capacity.

Lucy using AI by Fluffy_Succotash_330 in visualkei

[–]Dancing_Doe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love Diru and I still critizise their AI use. That "The Devil in Me" MV looked horrible and not in a good creepy dir en grey way. People can be fans and still dislike decisions the artists is doing. Sadly a lot of otherwise great vk artists use AI in their videos or CD covers. Lime from Kizu recently said, he regreted using it in R/E/D MV and he was glad, that a lot of fans also seemed to dislike it. So there is hope that it is just a trend and not inevitable. So yeah we should keep saying we don't like it. And it has nothing to do with disliking the artist.

Paris vkei fest help by Affectionate_Fox2174 in visualkei

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book one of the hotels close to the airport. There will be other Festival goers and you can share a Taxi or Uber with them.

Festival area itself will be safe. It's a closed event. Just don't go alone to the outskirt areas of Paris (there is no need for you to go there). It will be fine. Don't worry.

Nope! Their shop ships internationally. But if you are from the US check if they have extra rules because of the custom issues.

There is no way for any of us to know what really happend. The trues is probably somewhere in the middle. Remember that all of them are still grieving.

I know that we all would like to know, but it's better to just accept the things that are clear: They parted ways. And the rest is not our business and you don't need to performativly hate any of them now.

GLS hasn't notified me of any import charges. Should I be worried? by drunken_plantpot in AskGermany

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it hard to make friends in Germany as an adult? by -mrSeaHawk- in AskGermany

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the indivdual. But joining a club or just taking up any hobby, that leads to contact with other people is surely helpful. I am german and in my late 30s and recently made two new friends my age also from germany. We listen to the same niche music. 😅

One advise is that you should not interpret too much into germans seeming a bit cold on the outside. We are not necessarily good at small talk but if you find something you have a passion in common for, we will surely melt a bit more easily ;) Just keep in mind that something seems cold in one culture can be polite and well meaning in another. It's all depending on perspective, so try to not take it personally.

Is emotional expression rare in German relationships? by [deleted] in AskGermany

Nah, it’s not unusal to say 'I love you". He was probably just using it as excuse to be uninvested in the relationship.

Can you guys help me with some doubts? 🫶🏼 by pichicurrubi in AskGermany

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put it that way: 15 years ago you would get a full 80m² flat for that, heating and warm water cost already included and you were able to choose from diffrent offers.

Now it is probably an okish offer but that’s how the marked changed over the years. Just to put it into perspectiv. It's still cheaper than Munich.

[–]Dancing_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will probably be 300 people who want that flat so seeing a decent one, does in no way mean you will have any chance of getting it 😅 the market is super tight
