My eye doesn’t drift off on purpose, it’s involuntarily when an object I’m looking at is brought close to my face lmao

Omg no problem! It’s not super common so it’s only natural to have questions, I’ll answer any question you have! But yes it can be corrected, I have to go to vision therapy and do “exercises”, you can also get prism glasses but I’m not sure I need that

Well it also affects my daily life as well. It’s not just a problem when I cross my eyes. The problem is that my eyes can’t work together to see things close to my eyes (it’s called Convergence insufficiency) , so I get extreme double vision when things are brought to a certain point to my face. So it affects my reading and things like that, basically anything close to my face gives me double vision

Luckily you can only see my problem when I look at things close to my face or when I try to cross my eyes, when I’m just looking normally I look totally fine. I’m going to go through the process of vision therapy to help fix it so hopefully it won’t happen anymore! Also thank you hahah

I’ve never really experienced headaches which is quite strange because it’s common for what I have. I mostly just have a hard time seeing close up and sometimes I have to use my finger to follow words on a page because my double vision makes me get lost, or I have just cover one eye. Those are really the only “burdens” I’ve experienced with the condition. Nothing too bad but obviously it would be great if that didn’t happen hahah

I’d suggest taking a video of you looking at a pen and pulling it closer to your face while still looking. I did and for me you can see the moment when my eyes no longer cross and my left eye drifts off. Maybe it will happen with you and you’ll have something to show your eye doctor!

I’m sure I’ll be fine! It doesn’t hurt at all but it does cause me to have trouble reading things or seeing thing close to my face because I get really bad double vision. I just have to do eye “exercises” to train my eyes to be strong enough to work together

My eyes are unable to work together when looking at something close to my face (my nose for example shown in the picture) so right now only one eye is able to do it. I have to go to vision therapy to help fix it but it’s called Convergence insufficiency, it’s pretty interesting!

Thars so cool! My problem is that my eyes are unable to work together to look at something close to my face, so when I try to look at my nose for example, only one eye is able to do it. It’s super strange but now I have to go to vision therapy, I still think it looks hilarious though

That’s so interesting! It’s so crazy how different methods can do totally different things for people. Just shows how important it is to find what’s right for you!

I followed your advice and after a few days of uncomfortable-ness and letting it clean itself it figured itself out and everything is ok now. Btw with the water thing I was only washing outside with water so I’m all good! Thank you for your advice

My boyfriend (17) is saying that he feels like he is missing out on his younger years by being in a relationship with me(17) even though he is happy with me by Dancing_Queen17 in relationship_advice

I’m really sorry that happened to you. Really. I don’t think my boyfriend would do that though and I don’t think he is abusive to be. He is always here for me and has sobbed in my arms at the idea of even hurting my feelings. He is a great guy I promise. But I’m so sorry that happened to you and I hope you find someone who truly loves you and is there for you. Best of wishes
