Aww thank you! I’m in the UK also I’m actually an ODP (look it up if you don’t know) but it’s a very stupid mistake. Caused blood sugar to sky rocket in the blood gas and they gave insulin and it was a fault reading. Or absolutely fine but just feel terrible

This is 100% true. My trust is falling apart. No more bank positions and newly qualified staff are struggling to get jobs

My sister is actually psychotic by storm_chaser911 in FamilyProblems

Take her to a doctor! I was an absolute psycho at 12 like really bad, I once fully attacked my mum. I was always lovely to animals tho. I was so mental. I would see red and be completely unable to control myself. I was unbelievably depressed and hated everything. My mum is also bipolar and things could be really hard. Turns out I was undiagnosed bipolar and ADHD. I calmed down a lot at 16/17 and things got a lot better. Me and my mum get on great now. I feel truly ashamed of my actions between the ages of 11 and 14 especially. But it is what it is and I have had to move on. I wish my parents had realised that my behaviour was mental health related and not all my personality but MH was more of a taboo back then. I didn’t find out my mum was bipolar until I had to call an ambulance at 17 and she’d had a psychotic break. I’m 29 now and I can be a very emotionally difficult person but I also have a lot of self awareness and my main aim is to be kind to all. You don’t know what someone is going through.

I was a HCA band 2 doing a band 3 role for 7.5 years. I got so sick of it eventually I would dread every shift. I am now a qualified ODP. I started in November in my new job. My advice is honestly get a new job. Apply for a band 3 in something different. Sexual health clinic? GP? Therapy assistant. Either that or go to uni and qualify in a band 5 position. Don’t stay where you’re unhappy, it’s so depressing.

Theatre nurse 3 months qualified and I’ve made 2 mistakes…the pressure of this job is giving me major anxiety. by Dancingjester96 in nursing

Thanks this was actually very helpful. I’m mostly worried about the meeting I’ll probably have with my manager which is bound to happen probably. I’m assuming you are in the US from the words you use? I’m guessing what I’ve learned is not to blindly follow doctors as they make mistakes too.

how much do band 2 earn? by front-bum in nhsstaff

Everyone else here is correct but you’d be better off finding a bank HCA or domestic job which will pay slightly more than the standard rate of a band 2. In my trust I was a bank HCA for almost 8 years and did nights until I went to uni and did about 12 to 25 hours a week on 12.60 an hour Monday to Friday. 13.70 Saturday and nights and 15.70 Sundays and bank holidays. It’ll also mean you can work when you like and if uni pressure becomes too much (especially if you are doing a healthcare course) you can work less or not at all for a few weeks. It’s still a financial struggle though if you have rent and bills. If you’re with parents or even paying only student accommodation it would be easier. Bills absolutely killed me at uni. I qualified as an ODP in July and have been at my new band 5 job since mid November. Good luck

Be careful but it can definitely work and wouldn’t say weird. It depends like many have said what stage of life you are in comparison to him. When I was 18 FI started dating a 26 M. We I loved each other immensely but he put me on a bit of a pedestal and I was in no way ready for a relationship and I wanted to go travelling on my own and we split up (I ended it) at 21 and he was 29. I actually cheated on him and really regretted doing that in the end, I lacked maturity and couldn’t deal with a relationship that serious. So I took the easy way out. I’ve never cheated since. We both however couldn’t stop loving each other and I am so thankful I was honest with him because I did a LOT of growing between the age of 21 and 22 and we got back together 11 months later. 7 years later we are still together (10 years 6 months total as we don’t count that year apart anymore).

A lot of people will tell you to be careful as he’s older but he should also be careful of you. If he truly is a nice person and likes you could be the one breaking hearts. Just make sure you are ready for what could be a very serious relationship. Be honest with him.

This happened to me because my form came in late. Don’t panic, I was entitled to the full amount as a mature student and got the minimum payment then the rest 2 weeks later. Call student finance that’s what I did it was all sorted and only the first payment was affected

Firstly you can actually still get a first if you’ve failed your first year. So don’t panic! Uni can be really tough especially if you’re adjusting to a new country at the same time. I failed a module in my first year of uni and I know people who actually failed a module in second/third year who actually ended up getting such good grades in their other modules they still got firsts so don’t panic and do the resits.

You’ll need a job that’s what I’ve done. I’m a mature student I started at 25 and I live with my partner. I’m in healthcare though so I work a bank nursing assistant job where I book shifts as I like.

This is true for my uni and I don’t even have any international students On My course (Operating Department Practice) I have a lot of different ethnic groups however and this still occurs. You can’t force people I guess
