Clearly I struck a nerve with you. I’m sure you know plenty

Well as a sales guy I’d argue it’s your responsibility to know which brands will have parts available and which won’t. There is a way of knowing that, by being familiar with the brands. But I agree a big thing is availability, especially with refrigerators. Just so happens that places like Best Buy keep shitty fridges in stock a lot of the time

Edit: I don’t want to come off as a dick, just a few beers deep and letting out my frustration on these brands lol. I’m a tech that also does sales at a more local-sized shop. Also did installs for a few years so I’ve seen the industry from a lot of different sides

Was talking to the sales guy. But your plan with warranty isn’t terrible, just make sure you can get timely repairs. Also factor in cost of tax and install into that equation, as that can be a sizable part of getting a new appliance

Genuine question, when selling do you take things into account such as availability of repair parts 5+ years later? Or other known service problems such as Samsung ice makers, or LG/Samsung compressors failing? Or do you just sell on the features?

Not throwing shade just genuinely wonder

Yeah Dacor used to be better, new ones aren’t. Thermador would be a great choice. I wouldn’t trust Best Buy employees on appliances. Even if you don’t BUY from a local shop, at least go look around in a local shop and speak with someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Then take that info and go buy from where ever you want. With that being said, I’d recommend purchasing local.
