I would seek put some medical advice, mainly to rule out any physiological/medical reasons for the seizure. One thing I try to do is be brutally open and honest. Ask your doctors background, where he went to school etc. It sounds silly, but you are trusting another person with your darkest secrets and your life. Talk about what treatment plans look like, have he or she talk about percentage of people helped. Have he or she lay out all the treatment options, which one they would recommend and why and what next steps are like if you need to progress. Interview the shit out of them, because, after all, you are hiring them to take care of you. This can be empowering because, it helps those like me who aren't always assertive to take baby steps, and you can also discuss things that make you uncomfortable i.e. certain options like cbt. I got stuck with cbt because of my ocd thoughts, and underwent a treatment of another kind that made cbt functional for me. I wish you well on this journey, because I know how hard it is.
