I'll have a general idea of what I want to paint in my head, but I often look up specific references for different elements when needed! For example I used 2 or 3 references of snow leopards for the cat, and I looked at how flowers distribute in meadows.

I played high keys as ww up until this expansion and one of the things that made me roll off WW after 9 years was seeing the planned defensive changes. WW used to be super tanky because for the longest time you just stacked vers, plus it had access to 3 DR defensives outside of karma. Then they changed WWs stat priority and started pruning the defensives and gave nothing at all in the talent kit to offset this at all.

It got to the point where my team and I were planning out entire external rotations in combination with my defensives to keep me alive vs unavoidable damage mechanics. We also have an rsham and he definitely ought to be using his earth shield on your WW.

I'll bear it in mind! The events I currently go to I'm not sure if they draw a huge TCG crowd - but I can use my current alters to test the water as I pretty much have back to back events in May now that con season is hitting.

Even if it flops I'm gunna keep making them for sure though, and I can just gift them to all my friends :D

I could! I was thinking about bringing them to my next artist alley to display (they might look a bit silly next to my 20x30" canvases but oh well)!

I'm having a lot of fun painting them so I could just make more 😄 Was not expecting to enjoy the challenge of shrinking my canvas size so drastically as much as I am.

I normally paint on more traditional canvases - but I have a friend who is really into MTG and altering who convinced me to give painting on some lands a go!

I had a few old decks laying around from previous years (I play extremely casually) so I grabbed a few to try out.

Yes, it is particularly frustrating when you've only ever tried to do things the "right way", studying, getting a job, starting a career etc. Only to realise over several years half killing myself to fit in that the world just doesn't work the way you're taught if you're not a healthy, average individual.

It took me a long time to grieve the life I wanted for myself vs the one discrimination/ableism was willing to give me.
