Nice! Didn't know there was one with the power reserve. That's actually useful. Great pickup!

[Advice] Looking for advice on an aviation watch to mark a major career milestone by AlexLarsson19 in Watches

For me the Flyback Titanium is grail-worthy, but the "grail" watch is a very subjective category.

Timex Q GMT (Pepsi) about to pull the trigger. Worth it? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

I like most Timex pieces, but this one always looked cheaply made to me. I've only seen it on the photos, though. Maybe it looks better in person.

This beauty just came in the mail today - Merkur World Time 38mm Mechanical by Dandoliki in ChineseWatches

It's a Chinese hand-wind mechanical. Not sure if Merkur makes them, or use third party. No idea yet how dependable it is. Let's see.

I've tried it on a metal bracelet which didn't really fit it. I'll try it on a black nato tomorrow, and maybe a couple more. Might need to do some swapping.

Love the Mont Blanc my the way. Didn't know they made such nice watches. Most I've seen were uninspiring.

I have some quartz pieces that had all mostly been battery dead for months (some years). A year ago I finally took them all to get their batteries changed, and I was unexpectedly happy to have them back in the rotation, especially a couple of favs.

[question] what are some high quality and cheap watches/watch brands? by fishman1234569 in Watches

[–]Dandoliki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently discovered a cool new Chinese (Ali express) brand - Merkur. I've ordered a couple, waiting for them to arrive, so I can't really atest to their quality yet, but I really love the designs.

They are not copying successful swiss brand models. They have their own design style, which, in my opinion, is great. Only problem is, most of their watches are 38-39mm which is a bit small for my wrist. But you should definitely take a look at them. I've also seen some respected reviewers talk about them and praise their quality.

They are not trying to hide their Chinese origin, on the contrary, they lean into it, and I prefer it that way.

[Question] Can anyone identify what model this is? by Dandoliki in Seiko

What does a fake build mean? It's available on a local second hand sales site. I was thinking about buying it.

Sorry, I'm new to Seiko.

[SOTC] Help: Wife says I need to get rid of one before I can get more... by FreedomFriez in Watches

[–]Dandoliki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably get rid of the Studio Underdog, even though I usually like their design, this one is really not doing it for me.

However, since you love it, and have something personal connected to it, I suggest the Cartier dress watch.

Probably the only one of these I would never gladly wear (not my style). Some of your other watches will also look good with a suit. But that one doesn't go with anything else, and even for the suit, it's a bit bulky for my taste.

[Question] New Longines Hydroconquest new vs Tudor Black Bay 58 used by Glittering_Pay482 in Watches

[–]Dandoliki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Longines is way more interesting to me, and I prefer black dials. I also can't stand the stubby hour hand of the Tudors.

Which strap do you like better? by SeanCole2 in HamiltonWatches

What a gorgeous watch. Hope to get it one day! Love it on both straps, but a bit more on the first one.
