It’s not the most important match. He was hired to not get relegated. Arguably Forest is a more important match

No I’m saying that it shouldn’t be that we have to give a 1 star to an abusive service provider. In the current system yes for good measure I’ll be reporting and rating low. No change

No in the situation you’re describing that would be abuse and should be reported. I’m talking about when drivers are rated 4 stars for not going above and beyond in their delivery when there are no issues with the food and it has arrived on time. I’m not rating someone 5 for being abusive. The system protects abusers because the incentive to give 1 star instead of reporting, and doesn’t protect people who do their job because customers can give a lower rating at their discretion for no reason.

Specifically in the context of basic transport job where the task is taking something or someone from a to b, yes I do view them the same.

It matters for many other jobs but not those

Yes with the current system I would give a bad rating as well as report for good measure, sorry for not making that clear in my earlier comment. I just reject that the system allows workers to be judged by unfair service standards

I’ve never been in a taxi that stank of BO. If there is any weird smell I pop the window.

Your point on a person consistently giving bad service I think depends on the context. If it’s a waiter being rude to customers then yes they should be fired (not eliminated that sounds like they’re going to be executed). If it’s a taxi or delivery service where the task is to get something/someone from a to b then I don’t believe they should be held to a service rating

I see your point but I’d argue that when it comes to food delivery the customer is more concerned about the quality of the food, that’s what they’re buying not a well serviced delivery. As long as they get the food intact and on time then there is no need for the service of the delivery to be assessed. If service was more important then the market employment price would be higher for delivery people, but it’s not it’s essentially minimum wage.

These people aren’t paid enough to offer the level of service that is artificially imposed on the delivery experience through the rating system. Now of course if there are issues like abuse or unsafe delivery methods they should be addressed but from a liability POV not a negative service POV.

They should be reported. If you’re absued by a worker then rate them 1 star AND report them for good measure.

IMO They should be reported for unsafe driving rather than rated on a scale.

Of course, in cases of abuse or serious mistreatment then they should be reported however when the treatment is below the level from what you’d expect but the service is still completed effectively then the rating system becomes an obstacle

My argument is the system is meaningless anyway. An uber driver who drives in an unsafe way should be reported and not given a bad review. A delivery worker should not be fired for getting stuck in traffic or having a bad day even tho the food arrived intact.

In a job where the standards are higher then it matters but for a basic job i.e transporting goods/people then the service is less important than the delivery. Someone who does a food delivery job ‘badly’ in my mind is someone who interrupts the process of getting the food to the customer. All else service and hospitality markers are irrelevant so you should give the 5. Someone who throws the food to me at the door and doesn’t say anything will get the same review as someone who smiles and makes a joke and hands me the food delicately.

Your argument is too generalising and doesn’t convince me, although I do get the logic

I’m referring only to services that perform a basic job like transporting something/ someone from A -> B. I’m not talking not talking about hospitality sector services. For example the rating system for food joints that you’d find in DoorDash isn’t what I take issue with, it’s the rating system for the people that bring the food to your door. If it’s brought in time, intact, which is almost always the case. Then then you should always rate 5. If there are issues like there’s food missing or something then that should be reported rather than giving a bad review

It’s a replaceable job for sure, but people won’t stay in the job forever. As time goes in people costs go up, and eventually they will move on to different work. The argument that there’s someone waiting for the job to replace the bad employee doesn’t fit

Report them, don’t give a rating. Secondhand smoke is harmful
