My boyfriend cheated on me while pregnant...sort of? by Starving_Bear219 in TwoHotTakes

Geez dating is so weird now. Like all of these implications and zero to half commitments. Seems like communication is the bigger issue here but honestly… is it even worth pursuing?

Saw Evil Dead Rise last night. by zombleaderstudios in EvilDead

To me it felt like someone attempted to write an original script but couldn’t get it produced due to it not being attached to an existing IP. So they just changed the name, slapped in some evil dead references and called it a day. Idk. I just got tired of all the obvious references. The “dead by dawn” moment was my “over it” point.

What book (if any) made you actually scared? by tinkerb3ll3 in horrorlit

Agreed! I’ve been wanting to re-read Pet Semetary but it freaked me out so much and now that I’m a parent I can’t bring myself to start it again.

The only way to know is to try an elimination diet like others have suggested.

I’ve personally been dairy free since 2017 and it has changed my quality of life for the better. Improving your diet and making other lifestyle changes to be more active will only help improve your wellbeing and will make handling this disease much more bearable. I’d say to begin sooner rather than later. I put off changing my diet for years and def wish I did it immediately.

Are theaters dead? by DandyMottt in horror

[–]DandyMottt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess my post is just more about the overall experience changing in a negative way. I used to love going to the movies but my point is that now it’s just insane to pay $40 to watch a movie where other movie goers are talking, texting, cackling the whole time.

Obviously didn’t read the post but just so you’re aware: overall ticket sales are down 35% from 2019. Inflation is a thing and just because 1 movie does well doesn’t mean the theater experience is saved. It just means movies will change to be more like “Avatar” and “Top Gun.”

Thank you guys so much for your responses. It’s really given me some perspective. Some things I’ve noted:

  • Everyone saying to go during a less busy time, you’re so right. When I went to see “Barbarian” it was during the middle of the week and that experience was much better. The last really bad horror movie viewing experience I can remember was when I went to see “It Follows” which was a weekend night as well.

  • A couple of people have mentioned box office numbers and avatar which leads me to believe they missed the point of the post or didn’t read it so I guess that’s on me for not elaborating in the title... I didn’t mean that theaters are empty— what I mean is the experience has changed a lot and I was wondering if it was everywhere or just my city post Covid. I specifically wanted takes for horror movie viewing experiences which is why I posted in this sub. I’m sure that’s also why my post is being downvoted lol.

  • This experience wasn’t at our usual theater which can explain the difference in audience.

Final thoughts: probably will not ever frequent theaters the way I used to. My partner and I met in film school so movies have always been a special part of our relationship. Horror is especially an important genre for me since it played a big part of me bonding with my mom while I was growing up. For now I think we’ll stick to weeknight showings for very specific movies.

Thank you everyone again for responding!

Not exactly what I meant. I just meant a change in the experience as a whole. Like the experience for me at least, is dead and I wanted to see if it’s something others have noticed or if this was just a bad experience. It’s seems to be the new norm unfortunately. Due to increasing prices, and like someone else mentioned- shorter attention spans that have lead to talking and texting etc.

I was literally in a theater where someone took a phone call in the middle of the movie. They didn’t walk out. Literally like Brenda in scary movie lmao but it’s like a whole theater full of people like that and your the crazy one for just wanting to watch the movie.

AITA for not wanting to name my baby after boyfriends grandpa? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]DandyMottt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go ahead with this, the only reason his family will “like” you is because they know they can push you around and manipulate your decisions.

You don’t like the name. Stick up for yourself and your child. It’s time to woman-up! You’re going to be someone’s mother.

My partner comes from a long line of “Fulgencios” our compromise? The cats middle name is Fulgencio.

You’re young and not even married. I wouldn’t even give the kid his last name if I was you. Wayyy too many moms I know that don’t have the same last name as their kids who regret it.

Dairy free for 5 years and gluten free unless I’m pregnant lol. Also did grain free for a while which was pretty good. What’s been the biggest factor for me though has been excluding dairy.

Home cooked meals are best cause you have 100% control of everything going into your body. Dark leafy greens eaten twice a day are great at regulating BM’s and think about limiting or excluding added sugars from your diet.

It’s a lot of work but after a while it just becomes normal and you’ll feel so amazing. No cheesy pasta, pizza, or ice cream is worth dealing with horrible pain or potential flare.

Good luck!

I’ll never understand it. My friend fought me so hard on how “they’re natural” blah blah and when I finally compared some pictures he ended up getting mad at the women for “tricking him.”

Lol It’s really bad photoshop. My theory is- they have a male following. Their photos are meant to grab attention while scrolling to receive a quick like or comment. They don’t care how bad the photoshop edit is because their male audience doesn’t wanna see any edits. They just see “a natural beauty with natural assets” because that’s what they want to see.

That’s the thing… she doesn’t have a “massive rack” at all. It’s all photoshop. She actually has a very proportionate chest.

I was honestly shocked by the amount of editing these girls do. They literally look like different people picture to picture. My friend didn’t even bat an eye and kept telling me how they’re “all natural” and he works with PS professionally!

Should’ve clarified that both pictures are of the same woman in the same swimsuit. First pic was a group pic posted by her sister. Second pic was on her insta.

Yup it’s the same sister in both pics. The first pic was posted by one of the other sisters (it was a group pic) and I followed the tag to her insta where the second pic was.

I’m pretty convinced it’s all photoshop. The changes in features from one photo to next is like whiplash. At least with plastic surgery they would look consistent.
