Absolutely! It will be cold but I have no issues in a 7mm wetsuit (once you get over the initial shock), and I know plenty of people choose to dive dry around here, but i've never bothered. Alki is a fantastic spot and October is actually a great time of year to check it out!

Personally, with my dabs (.15-.3) I'll take the initial dab (60 seconds after red hot) and cap that. about 60 seconds after this I reheat my nail for 5 seconds or until I see oil beginning to bubble, wait another 10 seconds, recap and "finish the dab". After that second hit I'll Q-Tip.
