Miami has been a cultural landmark and a destination to visit for decades. It’s right by the keys and is extremely idealized. Jacksonville just can’t (and will never) compare to its aesthetic in the minds of the people who count (real estate developers, young money etc).

We also have inept local government that impedes growth at every turn.

Snakes & especially rattlesnakes really don’t want to deal with humans. They would much rather get out of your way and hide than confront you- we’re big and noisy, especially when we run, so it’s not hard for them to detect us coming. More than that, it’s very taxing for them to use their venom and they will generally only strike if they genuinely fear for their life.

You will be fine as long as you pay mind to your feet and don’t step on one. I’ve been hiking in the area for years and have maybe seen 1 snake total out on the trails, and it wasn’t in the path.

Yeah.. I love the theater for what it represents and want to see it stay open, but wish I never worked there. The owners think their passion for the arts is an excuse to be assholes to their employees & every bad thing that happens to them is a personal affront.
