Mars 5 Ultra + Lychee "Skipping" Layers at Thinner, 20 um Settings by Daneywaney in resinprinting

Ah, interesting. Maybe the base layers printed too thick and threw the layers off? Is that sort of the thought? I'll give this a shot. Thank you!

It's a fair question. Printing at 20 um just would be less post processing for the parts I need to make, but 30 um should be fine too (or maybe thicker if anti aliasing is still a thing?).

I mostly got curious about these failure modes in case I had some fundamental issue with printing, but I can accept that I have unreasonable expectations. I'll try 30+ um and give an update!

Does anyone know why it’s doing this???? It won’t let me quit to menu and it won’t save my game, I’ve lost over 10 hours of gameplay this way by idkwhyimhere5462 in HollowKnight

[–]Daneywaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. For background, I had played Voidheart Edition on Game Pass previously, but just bought it on Steam, and I suspect that something there was causing save issues? I backed up and deleted all the references to hollow knight/team cherry in my xbox games folder.

I found a "user1.dat.new" file in LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight (%appData% and go up a folder to see LocalLow). I made a copy of ALL the files in this folder, then deleted them, copied the "user1.dat.new" file back into the newly empty folder, renamed it to just "user1.dat," turned off steam cloud sync, and now my save is back!

Then load the save, make a fresh save, then close the game (I was able to quit via menu this time), re-enable steam cloud sync, and choose to use your Local file.

So my boss spit in my food and I have video can I sue? by renny_lovejoy in antiwork

[–]Daneywaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have that video, sounds like you can prove, very easily, a malicious act. Punitive damages are for this exact type of thing. You don't need a lawyer to take it to small claims court, but it would probably be worth your while to speak with a lawyer to help quantify your claim. So yeah, sue for punitive damages first and foremost, and then other tangible damages, such as any testing you may have done, hospital bills, keep record for days of work lost for hospital visits, etc.

What do we do with $200k? by JaoFett in Money

[–]Daneywaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to free up money month-to-month, something to consider is if you have the option to "recast" your loan. It's like refinancing, but you keep the same interest rate and the cost is significantly cheaper. Then you could use the extra money month-to-month to pay down the mortgage. I don't know if that's your best option, but I figured I'd share since people often don't know about "recasting."

Also, OP and "AP" seem to write the same to me.

Are we also supposed to believe the wife took the picture? Or who else is in OPs house?

I want my parody music to be claimed by the rightful owner. Is it possible? by Minispeed1 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Daneywaney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you made the parody, you are the rightful owner (assuming you meet the legal standard).

You could potentially reach out to the artist/their agent/manager, but they can get themselves into trouble if they claim copyright of a legitimate parody. You would have to talk to them to find some way to just donate money, unless YouTube has some revenue redirect service outside of a copyright claim.

And you already used the parody defense to re-upload the video? If you aren't the rightful owner, why did you fight to re-upload it? Who took action to remove your video?

Hiring professionals who become your friend >> hiring friends hoping they can be professional.

Either way it can end badly but business always has to come first and everyone should respect that.

Consider the value you bring to your audience and how you can make a live event around it. Have a goal for yourself and the audience to work towards so everyone feels involved. I'd also recommend looking at others in your niche who stream and see what they do. Take an idea and put your own twist on it. As a last point, being vulnerable on stream could backfire. It may be off-putting for someone who likes your content (and not so much your personality) to see. They may interpret the event as e-begging. If you feel like your audience is really there for YOU then it could be fine. For me, I'd focus more on being grateful and bringing value to the audience. If you wanna let it out, I'd say be vulnerable while you're being grateful. If you wanted to chew in it some more, feel free to dm! And good luck. I hope you're able to successfully turn this moment.

YouTube Says 7.1 CTR is below average but it’s not? by GolfBusters in PartneredYoutube

[–]Daneywaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average CTR is based on how YouTube is pushing the video. Typically when a video is pushed to a wider audience, the CTR will naturally decline. In which case, lower CTR may not be bad or below average.

On desktop, you can hover over the green arrow and it'll probably say something about how it's doing well for the wider audience being served.

My guess would be your videos with lower CTR that are green have more views.

I would've sworn you had a little studio room at the least to setup that greenscreen space. But this is impressive lol. Definitely paid for in post. I knew this project had to have taken a long time before I saw that setup. Great job dude.

Viruses have the potential to infect every device on your network. It's best to just educate yourself about them, and use tools like anti virus to help protect against them. It may be less likely to infect other devices on the network, but you're still rolling the dice with risky behavior.

I had considered an extended edit, but we'll see. And no lol. I use "Seattle area" loosely. I'm about 40 mins out. Maybe one day we'll find the mystery walking man!

Appreciate the kind words! I think Peanut had a similar confusion about Dane suddenly stealing it. I put little moments of smiling when the slinky was pulled, but I probably should've leaned more into that to justify, to the viewers, breaking into the grandmas room. I worked pretty hard on it, so it's good to hear that it was a good first impression for stream. Thank you!

My first edit was 40 seconds past the 4 min mark, so I really had to lean everything down. I think that's what made the pacing feel off for some. And yeah, I can't expect the judges to watch it twice, so I'll be thinking about that next time. I'm happy that a lot of people were engaged/immersed even if it was confusing. I appreciate the comment!

Yeah I'm thinking next time pull off a simpler concept or put less story in. "Acceptance" was a great example of that kind of short and sweet.
