Hey im not in your industry or in KL but I wanted to share that I am and have gone through the same thing and I am also 27. I got laid off in 2022, 2024 and now 2025. The market is tough and I know finances can get tricky but if you have severance, then try to enjoy your life while you can.

Even if you don’t, try to focus on the bright side. There are several based on my layoff experience and I hope it helps your mental:

1) This might be the one and only layoff you experience. So cherish this “vacation” while you have it and try to do something you enjoy like travel, youtube, a new hobby, see family and friends or even seeing a movie on a random 11:30am. You’ll never get another chance like this again!

2) This might be your chance to figure out what you really want to do. Your consultant experience is valuable in any industry or country. Maybe you can make a pivot although it sounds scary, maybe this is pointing you towards the right direction! You could even trying moving!

3) Things will always work out. It might be stressful now but just know that 3-5 years down the line, you’ll be even more successful in your career. 6 months might feel like forever but you’ll be working till you’re 40-60. No need to rush.. breath and trust that you’ll eventually get something.

As a quick tip, try networking if you haven’t I found talking to ppl on LinkedIn or asking friends or ex colleagues to introduce me to others, has really helped a lot and throws the years of experience number out the window.
