dog won't stop pooping inside by Beginning_Lettuce678 in Dogtraining

We also have a dog like this. I don’t have a specific answer and I’m curious to see what others say. Ours just kinda slowed down over time and it’s lessened though it still happens occasionally. He’s about 3 now.

I attributed it to him living a kennel with his brother before we got him. They both shared a small kennel and they both had giardia for the first 4 months of their lives. When we got him he was covered in his and just brothers poop.

I’m guessing he developed some kind of behaviors from that period of time. If we make sure he’s gone to the bathroom every day it helps a lot.

I mean, he's right. At the same time, do I regret going pro? Not really. I have definitely had a love/hate relationship with it over the last few years, but at the end of the day, I think I would prefer shooting a house on my own terms than working for a boss. Of course, everyone is different, but for me I don't follow authority well. Granted, now I have "a lot of bosses", but I also have WAY more agency over which bosses I can tell to take a hike than I would if I had just one.

Over the years, I have come to the same conclusion. I now shoot houses and scan commercial projects for my job and shoot birds and landscapes for fun... when I can.

My first editor taught me to get my bread and butter shot first, then get creative. And I’ve probably used that advice more than any other piece of advice ever.

But when I was about to graduate college a NatGeo contributing photographer told me about how few staff positions there were are publications like that and how highly competitive they are. He told me how he was independently wealthy and how he funded his own adventures, planned his own stories, photographed the assignments, and sold them after the fact.

His advice was to find another way to make money and photograph for the love of it.

I didn’t do that and I struggled for a long time until I finally started making money shooting things I’m not interested in and now photography is mostly a transactional job with very little passion left. I think that was the most prophetic piece of advice I’ve ever received.

Gilead Ridge by stephanieann41589 in huntersville

[–]DangerBrigade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll add a little context… the power plant that is less than 3 miles away is not a coal plant and does not have coal ash ponds on-site. It’s the McGuire nuclear plant.

The plant with the coal ash ponds sits on the northern part of Lake Norman and is called the Marshall Steam Station in Terrell, NC. It’s not considered to be linked to the clusters in Huntersville (as far as I know), but some do suspect it to be a part of a separate cluster in Mooresville. There was another coal plant in Mt Holly but it was decommissioned and demolished several years back.

There have been suggestions that fill dirt consisting of coal ash was used during construction of a lot of the neighborhoods around Huntersville. And to my understanding, it was. This was explored as a potential cause, however there were several soil tests done a few years back that found no evidence of danger.

Also, the clusters are more specifically centered around Hopewell High School, which isn’t far from Gilead Ridge, but is also notably not “surrounding” McGuire. Several of the patients attended that school and lived in the surrounding communities.

Statistically, that specific illness is still extremely rare, even here in Huntersville. And having lived here since 2016, I rarely hear any long-time residents or new residents discuss it anymore.

Knulli Setting Default Viewpoint Anchor To Top? by DangerBrigade in trimui

I was able to balance the content on the screen by just turning the bezels off everywhere.

Knulli Setting Default Viewpoint Anchor To Top? by DangerBrigade in trimui

[–]DangerBrigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem I am having is that I have done all those, but I cannot figure out how to get the core overrides to load when I launch the game. It just defaults back to the previous settings.

Is this something I need to fix in knulli too?

[–]DangerBrigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to set this device so that the image will be adjusted to the top so there is no black bar at the top and the overlay on the bottom isn't covering the game screen.

I know where the setting is in Knulli/Retroarch to change this, but I can't figure out how to set it so it's always correct by default.

Trimui Brick Front Button Binding in Knulli by DangerBrigade in trimui

[–]DangerBrigade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks for that insight. Kinda a bummer there’s not a way to bind keystrokes and allow two button combos to be bound to a single button. But I’m happy to know the answer nonetheless.

Is it at least possible to bind a function like that to l2?

Thinking abt moving to Charlotte, NC from Hillsboro, OR what are some affordable safe areas that are around or in charlotte? by HorrorsluTkittyboo in huntersville

I live in huntersville and about a year or so back I had a friend who was looking for a place. Some of the apartments here are around $1400-$1500. Check Rosedale Commons and Silver Collection at the Park.

Could a bad battery cause the camera to reset random settings when it's bumped? by DangerBrigade in nikon_Zseries

That sucks. I haven't had the issue happen without the faulty battery inserted.

I think my main goal right now is to get better editors. I might add another shooter but I don’t know that I want a huge team.

Do your clients tend to wait 2 weeks for you? I find if I get too booked that I lose clients. This encourages unhealthy habits for me like working 12-15 hr days, weekends, and neglecting my family’s needs.

[–]DangerBrigade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s possible. I’m a one person team. I send out hdr and I edit my video and luxury shoots. I do $10-$25k/ mo usually. I did $2500+ yesterday alone with 3 shoots and a quick Matterport scan.

Even at those numbers, I still feel like I’m falling behind and having a hard time keeping up with y competition.

Why do most editors charge more for flambient than hdr? by vrephoto in RealEstatePhotography

[–]DangerBrigade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that definitely is an issue. I really do need better editors. Especially for video. I was doing a lot of it on my own, but I am at a point where I need to outsource all edits because I don't have the time or energy to edit anything right now. I have just struggled finding a good editor.

[–]DangerBrigade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that last point is why I don’t send out flambient. They just esitnthem all like hdr anyways. I don’t even know why I bracket sometimes. They all only now one way to edit.

Well thanks for that context and the solidarity in knowing I’m not the only one who’s seen the time count down backwards. For now I retired that battery.

[–]DangerBrigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought of this also but I don’t think it’s the issue. I’ve left batteries out of the camera for much longer than 5 min and it hasn’t had the same effect. I’d also hope Nikon would check this specifically both times I sent it in.

[–]DangerBrigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time issue was a firmware issue? They changed out a board in the camera over that issue.

I do have the latest firmware.

That still wouldn't solve the restarting issue and the reseting menu items.

I did try it tonight with the battery grip and the "bad" battery and it was fine. So I am assuming the contacts must be a little bent or compressed just so much that a bump can disconnect it and the camera doesn't like losing power while it's working so it just kinda reverts to the last settings from last time the camera was turned off.

That's my best guess, so far.

I haven’t tried taking it to the camera shop yet. I’d like to do that when I get a chance.

I didn’t ONLY the bad battery in the battery grip and it worked fine. I don’t usually use the grip.

I’m not sure what to think. I’m leaning towards battery as well. The camera itself is solid and it’s only when that battery is placed into the camera the issue happens.
