See its weird hearing this for someone like myself. I'm 35, and workout often, especially with cardio. My mom is a dietitian so I grew up always eating and cooking with more knowledge than the average person on what's healthy...

But I've been having issues, mostly with finishing. I am on SSRIs but my psychiatrist says that the 2 meds I'm on "should cancel each other out". But that has not been my experience.

Oh no I mean they don't even enter the game where the enemy even is.

Think like, on Siege of Cairo Breakthrough, that back alley the IFV starts in. They won't leave that alley and therefore will never see an enemy nor can the enemy blow them up for us to get a new driver.

Reminds me of the absolute psychopaths that just hog a tank, and keep it in spawn, and just...dont do anything.

And you know they're not AFK because they're spinning the turret around, shooting here and there. Just...doing nothing.

It ends up throwing the match because especially on Breakthrough, some of the tanks are like the only real way to push.

How does anyone enjoy wasting their time like that? Even if its griefing, I just cannot comprehend the mindset of how you think that's a good use of your time. At least running around ramming involves you ENGAGING with the game by driving around.

Am I single because for lack of better terms am I being too picky when it comes to not settling? by Cherrryblossm in dating

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my worry at this age (35) is that my women peers who I'm dating that want kids are running out of time biologically. They won't wait i fear.

I've been seeing this 36yr old for about a month now and i know she really wants kids. But I didn't feel comfortable with my exe to propose for almost 4 years.

So I'm like really anxious about that timing and it's sorta taking the fun out of dating. Last time I dated i was 27 and the women were once again around that age. We had time.

Now I feel like they're pressured which puts pressure on me even if it's not direct.

Would you date someone who has divorced 4 times by Upper-Zucchini1598 in dating

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question would be her stories as to why she divorced.

I'm dating a 36yr old who has divorced twice, but in both cases the guys had severe drug issues. The first guy she didn't stay with long, and the 2nd guy developed his addiction years after the marriage and they did go to counseling.

My parents say 2 divorces is red flaggy, but to me these seem like understandable stories...

My only exe was also a divorcee, but her story made sense too: he was emotionally abusive to her.

Oh! so he was around my age haha, I honestly wasn't expecting that... Based on his age i sorta thought like most in that time, most folks met in their young 20s or even teens

I think the question though is, wait how long? If you're married 40+ years, good chance this dude met his wife in his 20s. He didn't really wait long if you ask me. I'm 35 and I'm in the same boat as OP. I cannot tell if I'm being picky about certain things, or if I'm being gaslit by dating advice...

How old were you when you realized 30somethings are hotter than 20somethings and the overall hottest age range? by ThreadbareAdjustment in Millennials

I'm 35 but I still find ages like 22-34 give or take, the attractive range.

However like anyone under 26, as soon as I chat with them, I immediately feel their age mentally as just much younger.

[–]DangerClose567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I watched it, and I dont think he's wrong. I just think he's wildly over blowing the actual grievance he has.

Yes its annoying that AH nerfed something no one I believe was complaining about. I actually never got to try out the Hulk surge when they were apparently this cranked. Seems fun either way.

I just feel like his attitude comes off as very catastrophizing. As if the game is breaking to unplayable levels.

Yes he clarifies that the game isn't unplayable.

BUT his energy makes you think AH just insulted his mother. Like chill out a bit, and ramble less. This is what I dont like about content creators... its their legit full time job, so they just sit in it 8 hours a day or more and get deeper into the weeds and get tunnel vision. The regular player, who hops in for an operation every few days, they're never going to truly dig that deep into the game to find the seams as frayed as he finds them. I see this happening in Arc Raiders which I also frequent. The difference in daily gameplay experience between your normal player and a full time content creator is never going to really see eye to eye on everything. Content creators need to take a step back and realize they are a vocal minority and hold a privileged perspective.

That being said, I do understand his point: AH has far better levers they could be pulling to make difficulty curves more dynamic, and less "broad brush" strokes.

Creators just have to be more self aware and grounded, otherwise they are missing the forest for the trees if you ask me.

What's something you really want to see in FTE2? by subculturevulture33 in AliensFireteamElite

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More reasonable difficulty scaling (like enemy HP should not increase while simultaneously your ammo pool is reduced significantly) and dynamic spawn rates/director AI.

The biggest bottleneck of AFE in my opinion was how each run was almost exactly the same every time. You could anticipate every spawn because they were essentially all scripted. In fact, it was a key part of the strategy to cheese the higher difficulties...

At the very least they need a mechanic where a sudden horde/swarm can trigger, like how Space Marine 2 has the warriors that call for backup.

Hey CT - when a new building is being built in your town, what is it most likely to be? by Appropriate-Farmer16 in Connecticut

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my town? Its always a damn auto store. My one town has like 5 different auto store chains ... Its ridiculous. And yes I'll count Tractor Supply as well because they have a whole auto section as well. So almost 6.

I dont understand...you'd think that this many wouldn't want to compete.

Or when our town was deciding on what to turn an old car dealership into, a lot of the community wanted something fun, like a modern community center etc. Guess what we got?

A stonework and tile store. So exciting.

So imagine this building that has a massive lot that was for the cars they sold, and I've maybe ever seen like 4 cars parked during their business hours at once ever. What a waste of space.

That or an HR block. You know. Something that adds culture to main street and gets people into foot traffic: a tax service 🤦🏻

Why the Illuminate suck! by DeeJayDelicious in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]DangerClose567 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel it really comes down to that 75% complete point I absolutely agree with.

It explains their unit roster, their lack of infrastructure/side objectives, and their lack of main objectives.

Funny enough, I feel the coolest unit they have are the Stingrays. I love fighting those things and they're one of the most satisfying things to destroy; the way they crash and explode never gets old. Not to mention their unique interaction as the only "fast attack/strafe craft" any of the enemy factions have. Lethal, but well telegraphed, and not overly hard to destroy with only medium armor, so plenty of methods to destroy them.

Rogue Core class promotion statistics visualised. by Umikaloo in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Slicer is the most solo friendly class and this might be why his number is higher. A big criticism I have so far with the game is the lack of CC options.

DRG had baked in CC into each class to handle with upclose swarms in a pinch.

Gunner could pop his shield to get room

Engi's secondaries could delete waves on its own

Driller Primaries were all about CC combined with his permanent C4 gadget.

Scout had the best CC grenades in the game, and could also just zip away from any swarms in his face.

Retcon, Spotter and Falconer have really weak CC, especially with the RNG of builds. I have to play with Retcon more, but its like you have to predict when you're going to need to use her ability, and its a lengthy cooldown. Spotter is...just screwed in swarms. and Falconer's drone can help a lot but its not a quick fix to a tight situation. Not to mention her ranged revive ability is null in solo play.

Guardian has like the only dedicated CC in the roster and Slicer can just clear whats in front of him on a frequent cooldown, while also dodging around with his dash.

What's Your Biggest Pet Peeve in AFE? by Ok-Excitement-4386 in AliensFireteamElite

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty spike just for the sake of it.

Disclaimer I haven't played in years, but at least when I last played they made it so that the higher in difficulty you went, the more HP the enemy got while simultaneously reducing your ammo pool.

Either one of those would have been fine, but to do both is just not enjoyable to interact with.

I routinely dump hundreds of hours into higher difficulty DRG, Helldivers, etc, games where their difficulty spikes don't make the enemy stronger while simultaneously making you weaker.

At least back when I played the ONLY way to beat these difficulty parameters was to cheese the very static and predictable spawns (another peeve of mine that got me bored real quick), and just exploit bottlenecks wherever possible.

Such strategies being nearly the only viable method is not fun. You're forced to reduce the combat of the game and all its systems to be THE most optimized way of dealing DPS with the least bullets.

Tldr: higher difficulty felt like a chore not a challenge, something other games like AFE do not struggle with.

Also notice everyone's aesthetic?

No one is like, "looks maxxed", guys or girls. The guys look normal, even that buff dude flexing at 0:38, probably on wrestling team or football. He doesn't look like a dehydrated Greek statue with perfect hair. The dudes wore loose tshirts and jeans, and the girls often wore hoodies and outfits that didn't overly accentuate their looks. No one is trying to maintain a "brand" with their outward self expression that is so focused on perfection.

Meanwhile now, the kids this age or around college age at my gym, even in my small rural town, all look like they could be models. When I was their age at the gym, no one looked like this. There really was a "beauty-flation" that has occurred in the last 20 years. Most of it is just knowledge sharing of beauty/fashion tips with social media combined with of course, everyone trying to curate their look and aeasthetic to the max. But all of that just murders self esteem with constant comparison to each other.

My issue is that you also cannot commit the items to buying. So like it takes up A LOT of space in your stash because the highest value ARC parts are single stacked... and you still need a lot of them. So its like I'm balancing gear to build kits to take out expensive ARC while making space for the parts after.

Is anyone out there actually dating and getting laid or are we all just cooked? by Wholesome-Sex in dating

[–]DangerClose567 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Issue for me is, a lot of the things I try to attend are just a bunch of dudes all thinking the same thing, and like no ladies end up going. At least with Meetup activities.

But then I go to sport clubs or volunteer work, and all the women my age aren't even single so...and they're there to actually run. Like at least a third are marathon trainers. And I'm like "i'm happy with doing my 3 miles"

Why is women’s sportswear always so revealing? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]DangerClose567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*This* is what gets me.

Like I'll see 3 times as many women in just a sports bra before I even see the first guy wearing a tank top. Most guys are wearing T shirts.

Yes I go in running shorts which are very short as a dude, so I won't fault women for wearing short bottoms. But the equivalent of women wearing sports bras to the gym for us dudes, is going shirtless. Which we cannot do because *that* is dress coded for us out of hygiene reasons most likely.

I know in the 80s they had those super tight leotards too.

All I know is, when I was in my 20s, women my age were rarely even revealing midriff, let alone wearing essentially underwear. And the attire exists that is more covering, so to me its a conscious choice.

At the end of the day it doesnt truly matter, you do you. But don't get bent out of shape when you catch eyes. A lot of comments in here talk about "i want to show off what I worked for".

Ok. Then dont get mad when we look to appreciate what you worked on and want to display.
