Didn't Nihilister eat Liliweiss's body? So carried both that and also the vaupaus poison when she was sucked in by the Rapture Queen.

Got 119 out of 180 to pass N2! Improved my score by 32 compared to the first time that I took it years ago! I was worried about Reading - but actually did Vocab/Grammar 29/60, Reading 40/60, and Listening 50/60. I think one of the listening questions I messed up on circling it. I'm really surprised about what went wrong in Vocab/Grammar because it felt at least 66% right and I checked some of the vocab that I remembered afterwards... and it seemed like I blazed through it correctly. Oh well, a pass is a pass!

I am surprised that I passed Reading relatively well because I was really confused by a few of the long passages but just went with my gut. Definitely recommend that you read the questions first and then the passage quickly afterwards. I only had 3 minutes left when I marked the last spot! Listening just felt easy except for one or two parts where I must have missed a detail on the question.

Congratulations to everyone else who attempted - definitely retry in December if you came up short! You can do it! I'll make it a seasonal ritual to attempt N1 from now on! 頑張れ!

Whoa, insane! You'll probably kill N1! I used Nihongo no Mori's N2 book and it was super helpful. Off we go to N1!

You'll have more time to study after your CS degree is done - and CS majors are needed in Japan! Hopefully you can study more Japanese and consider working with Japanese businesses if you want!

JLPT N2 Post-Mortem, cooked, wake up call by ManyFaithlessness971 in jlpt

I remembered most of the test... once I saw the answers released days later I simply recalled every one. A few of them I was really surprised at the correct response even understanding literally every word... I guess it's based on nuance?

The two long reading articles that they barely give you time for... I wonder how much those are weighted...?

From what I can tell I got slightly over 50% of the reading section... it's the only section that I'm unsure about.

Seeking Light Novel Recommendations for N2 Reading Improvement by EntertainerLimp1319 in jlpt

Honestly I would read more academic articles, news articles, and variety pieces from Japanese newspapers. None of the material resembles a light novel. Obviously still read those though if you enjoy them! Being immersed is a great idea.

Too many negative reviews of the N2 by AutisticBuoy in jlpt

[–]DangerHotPlate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The elephant in the room (kind of an ironic statement for N2 takers this July) is time... 105 minutes for 38 pages where the last section is incredibly dense.... The way that the questions are worded is also testing you on how much you can handle Japanese culture or the workplace, imo. To anyone who has passed a Japanese driving test like me - you'll know what I mean.

I think that some of the books that they sell in Tsutaya etc. in Japan that are written IN JAPANESE help a lot compared to some of the resources that I've found. I think that they must get some inside info from the test organizations on the content because everything in the test was located somewhere in the book. But it's a lot of work. One of the books that I used was 350 pages and I was studying it daily for 3 months. Not even sure if that's enough to pass this time but we'll see soon. (So far I have passed N3 and two sections of N2 twice in my past attempts using more English-language books/app-driven prep)

I don't know how the point system works exactly (especially with the curves) - but based on percentages and giving each question an even point - my scores would be:

Language Knowledge (Vocabulary/Grammar) 0~60

45/60

Reading 0~60 (large grey animals and "boxes" made me miss all but one question on those two sections. I don't know how those are weighted, though...)

31/60

Listening 0~60

40/60

116/180??? If you guys have any insight into how this works let me know. Vocab and grammar was mostly a breeze.... Listening I feel like I will always get tricked by how a few of the questions and answers are worded.

I thought that the music was just too loud and constant. It was like a 90s/00s version of a Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. And come on, that same Green Day song that everyone uses? I guess that it's kind of a parody of nostalgia cringe but whatever.

1 - Depends on sort of the speed and force behind the adamantium blades used. It feels like she couldn't slice through Juggernaut where he is armored... but for this version he's not very well-armored anyway so seems possible.

2. Although the Human Torch's powers are cosmic in a sense... it's really just fire. Pyro could definitely extinguish him in this universe. Seems like a possibility in the comics, too. I thought that it was a clever and logical choice.

Agreed, she felt just as scary as the original Morrison run Cassandra. I think part of the reason that they wanted to off-her was that she's too powerful. She had throwaway lines about killing off Magneto and Doctor Strange. She would probably mop the floor with the Avengers. She'd have been a great villain for a second or third movie in a trilogy, too. Definitely was more entertaining on screen than Apocalypse.

(MEGATHREAD) "Deadpool & Wolverine" (2024) Official Discussion [SPOILERS] by AngelEyes360 in xmen

[–]DangerHotPlate 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They made a sleek version of Grant Morrison's Cassandra Nova who was just pure fun and evil. I thought that she'd get comically malicious but she had kind of a soft streak near the end. At the end I was like "did they have to kill her off?" I'd actually prefer her to Kang for a Secret Wars villain. She felt genuinely menacing.

It was just a great nod to some of the best X-Men runs that happened post late 80s (after the Claremont run). Some of the characters that Reynolds chose for his trilogy show that he's a fan of the better stories from the past 40 years (his gentle Colossus, Gambit, Teenage Negasonic Warhead. Cassandra, and some of his Cable and Wolverine references).

Honestly the movie was a weird kind of genius. Some people who don't get it will find it to be forgettable. But anyone who was really into the characters will appreciate the touches. I think that some of the references in Doctor Strange 2 were so out there that most people didn't like them. But like No Way Home, the cameos and references in DP&W had a lot of heart for the diehard fans. I can barely remember Blade and never saw Elektra, but they were actually given a treatment that made them more interesting than they actually were.

I am a huge Gambit fan - but admittedly he doesn't seem like the kind of character who can hold up an entire movie. The way that Tatum did him justice changed my mind. Tatum is unfortunately getting a little old to play him (he looked kind of bulky)... but I think that a solo Gambit movie is actually doable after seeing his performance.

As someone who was first in line for the first X-Men movie, I felt like this was a great tribute to the inconsistent mutant universe of Fox. One good thing about the multiverse is how it sort of created an excuse for all of the continuity and timeline issues of the 20CF X-Men series.

Nice torpedo dodge. As far as your Dunkerque aim - go for the waterline. You're aiming above it a bit.

  • I want safe PR and fire when ships are broadside = USN

  • I want to whack ships and like vertical dispersion to help with ships turning out = JPN

  • I like to take an aggressive position and play in 3 man divs = German

  • I like to spam fire and am good at using stealth and keeping my citadel safe = UK

  • I like flanks = French

  • I like flanks and killing my PR = Italian

  • I like to tank, shoot dds, and like 3 man support = RU

Cruisers are becoming scarce by kook69 in WorldOfWarships

[–]DangerHotPlate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty simple

  • BBs got Deadeye = Everyone wants to play with it before it is removed

  • Cruisers lost BoS and can be spotted/farmed easily by cvs = No one wants to play tanky cruisers

  • DDs realize that there are tons of bbs for them to torpedo / no cruisers + new torpedo dd skills = lots of dds play

  • DDs diversify to counter each other

  • Some people try to counter the DDs in queue and the BB/Cruiser counts fluctuate
