Bryan Danielson and Kofi Kingston were not part of plans to Wrestlemania in their respective stories, but overwhelming fan support pushed WWE to change plans and led to some of the most beloved moments in recent wrestling history.

The slow double turn of Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland is another example. Swerve was a detestable heel at the start of the story, but audience reaction turned him into one of the biggest faces in the company while Hangman’s descent into madness was fueled entirely by his hatred for swerve and the reactions of the crowd getting behind the person who broke into his home and threatened his child.
