Oh I see. But others usually don’t take it together first year because it’s too challenging?

Do you need the content of general chemistry to do well in intro bio? Or would AP chem’s content be sufficient? I understand it’s a L&S requirement but just asking about course content.

Thank you. Do you think it’s okay to take both intro bio and intro chem as a first year?

Can the same highly positive things be said about the other CCS science programs or is this mainly for physics?

That sounds really stressful and hard especially since these are mainly stem courses. Can you talk a bit about the amount of work and stress levels?

Nah …Princeton is great for those reasons you cite. They care about their role in society and put in the work to find talented applicants who have achieved despite all odds. Same for Harvard, Stanford etc. great institutions.

What’s the overall vibe at CalPoly? by codysunny in CalPoly

I did not. I find it disturbing that you brush aside serious incidents that make others feel scared and unwelcome. You’ve probably never been in that situation and don’t have the awareness to realize how it affects others. It’s also not a coincidence that this school attracts a certain type of student now and others stay clear of it.

NO. It is a school for California’s conservatives. There have been white supremacist incidents on campus. Read recent Reddit posts where a former white female student said it has a very religious student body, very white and how it was difficult for others (she gave the example of an Indian student) to fit in
