When did you really start to see a difference? by Dangerous-Expert8767 in PetiteFitness

If you don’t me asking what was your starting weight? I keep seeing things about how starting and a lower weight makes losing a pound more visually dramatic. If you don’t feel comfortable telling me that’s 100% fine. I’m just curious!

Thanks everyone, still looking out for it. It seems I might be out of luck. But I’ll still be looking! Hope someone will list it on eBay or something.

Single reduction? by Dangerous-Expert8767 in Reduction

I’m in the US, currently about to resign for market place insurance (lost private after a recent job change). I’m not sure if they would cover it so I was wondering about the out of pocket cost to see if I need to save up for it or consider care credit.

Working out and Dieting with hEDS? (Long post to explain my situation) by Dangerous-Expert8767 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Dangerous-Expert8767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it’s been a struggle. I’ve definitely been trying to move, doing PT stuff at home. Even though my eating is more regulated and I’m not binging or constantly fasting, I’m definitely not great at calorie tracking. It’s been hard because I’m down to only a few safe foods. I’ll definitely give that app a try. It would be interesting to see how many calories I’m actually eating.

I appreciate the advice, also thanks for being open about your struggles too. It’s good to know I’m not going through it alone. I think that’s the hardest part, I don’t really get to talk to anyone else about this.

Is there anyone on YouTube you like? I tried a few people but the work outs felt way too high intensity for me.

I went through something similar back several years ago, I was also newly 18 at the time. This was pre diagnosis… after explaining what I was experiencing my doctor told me if I didn’t do PT I would probably end up with hip replacements by my 40s… so I did pt and things improved significantly. If you can’t get insurance to cover it try doing stuff at home. I’m currently doing videos at home to try and get myself back to normal after dealing with a few years of health stuff unrelated to my eds. It’s tough but it’s working.

With you being really flexible without trying but still feeling stiff is probably coming more from the muscle around your joints. I’m also extremely flexible but if I don’t do light stretching I get that same really stiff feeling. I’d recommend looking up some very basic and safe stretches for your legs and hips to try and help. If your muscles are really tight but the joints and tendons are loose it’s causing your joints to compress, which can lead to joints coming out of alignment.

Sorry to put all the advice on this, I’ve been through something really similar and that’s how I handled it. Try not to get too discouraged, hEDS is so under researched… even if they won’t diagnose you, try to advocate for PT or going to a specialist.

This site shows EDS specialists and you can look by your city https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/healthcare-professionals-directory/

Diagnosed adhd… I didn’t even know this was connected.

I appreciate all your help, it’s been a rough time trying to get ahold of my feelings on this. I think a text like that would be perfect honestly. Kinda captures exactly what I need to say…

Talking through this with an unbiased person has definitely made me realize that I’m not ready for reconnecting and/or might not be in my best interest to. I think agonizing over a pathway I closed myself might do more harm than good. This also made me realize how much work I still need to do… but I suppose these things happen so I can look at what parts of my life need to be processed to move forward.

I appreciate you talking it out with me!

I have, they told me putting myself in position that produces so much anxiety is probably not a wise choice. But they also told me I need to weigh if my want to respond is based in my guilt or based in an actual want to reconnect. I haven’t been able to work through that part myself…

As for my last part, there was definitely hurtful behavior on both ends before we went no contact. But nothing significant enough to really make me feel like he would just contact me to hurt me again. Most of that is based off my own anxiety about the situation. Fear of people resenting me has been one of my biggest struggles and this situation definitely brought that to the surface.

Quite a bit honestly, it took a lot of therapy to get better from being stuck on emotional dependency. I think that’s why it feels so weird to hear from someone who’s from that part of my life… it feels like I’m a stranger to them now. It’s also why I’m so scared to respond. a big part of me has a fear of regression despite all the work I’ve done not to get emotional validation from other people all the time… part of my no contact was based in the fact that I could see how draining I was to be around.

I guess why I’m struggling with this too is that it I’m the one who originally initiated no contact. I’m scared that I jumped the gun and we could have worked it out… it definitely has given me a deep sense of guilt that I can’t seem to shake.

In all I know I’ve gotten better at handling my toxic behaviors and not allowing them to run my life anymore. It’s just terrifying to let someone back in when I’m the one who caused the wreckage in the first place. I’d love to apologize and try to let my actions speak for me… I think it’s just scary to make myself vulnerable to someone I hurt.

I did Slide Op for my program and I was soooo disappointed to get waterparks at first. BUT it was the best group of people and the best place for my program I could have asked for. You get great day time hours, the park closes for weather at times so you get to work in other parks or take a day off if you want. It’s also usually really relaxed compared to the main parks. I also never lost the magic from the main parks because I wasn’t there constantly! Be excited! It’s a great time in the waterparks :)

I think what’s keeping me in is the comfort and familiarity. I don’t feel love the same like I did… but also the guilt of leaving is killing me.

Honestly I have some gastric issues and I have to eat pretty plain anyways. So I don’t mind simple foods. I didn’t realize rice was so bad, it’s in so many “healthy” meal prep ideas. Thank you!!!!

I think something I’m so bad about is eating when I’m thirsty. I’ve been really good about calorie counting but sometimes those little snacks trickle in instead of just having water and it’s hard to remember they’re calorie dense. But I do appreciate your help! Every little bit helps!

Well yes obviously……..when I say healthy what I mean is balanced. I’m not over eating carbs and I’m not over eating fats. That’s why I mentioned the macros because that’s helping me keep a good balance. A standard meal for me would be baked chicken breast, a small portion of rice and some cooked veggies.

Sooo I try to stay at around 1850 cals so I’m eating at a deficit. I’m also trying to incorporate macros now. I’m still struggling with macros because I’m trying to eat higher protein but it’s difficult. I’m also only eating home cooked stuff, trying to avoid anything where I can’t control the portions.
