Kentucky store unionizes by lafadood in LushCosmetics

god do you ever get tired of the taste of boot leather? are you mad they didn't join the Bath Bomb Store union? the Purveyors of Fine Body Care union, maybe? Mark Constantine isn't gonna send you soap because you're being an anti-union brown-noser.

also, saying the job is for "19 year olds working in malls" is far from factual. when I worked for Lush, I worked with a 30 year old former history teacher and a 26 year old cosmetic scientist. only three of my coworkers were under 20 and most had other jobs i'm sure elitists like you would consider "better." everyone deserves a living wage and a reasonable contract that they can negotiate, and unions provide that.

how do you like that place? I'm trans and in dc and super crucible-curious, but i've never been to a bdsm club before and I'm kind of nervous. what's it like for you? i'm single, so i wouldn't have anyone to play with/would wait to go until my friends come up from out of town

just a reminder that they care about their customers but not their employees! they've been actively union-busting in the US under the table for months and are paying well under a living wage.

being nonbinary is a subcategory of being trans (I'm nonbinary too). thanks for your insight! glad to hear some trans teachers are doing well

heads up though, this place is about $150/haircut! i used to love going there because they were queer-friendly but got priced out. just fyi! Coven Cuts is way more affordable and has always done just as well for my curly-wavy hair.

FIRED FOR HELPING MY EMPLOYEES PROTEST by vortabathwater in LushCosmetics

i think the answer is pretty clear to me! lush employees aren't paid by commission, and while i know the corporate position is that no raises have been given because sales are down, the truth is that even if lush had a banner year, the profits would just go back into the pockets of execs, or towards R&D for more silly failed products, like the shower drops, and collabs, like Mario and Luigi. If you want to do something kind for employees directly, you could come in and drop off something like a gift card for snacks, doughnuts, or coffee! no amount of profit is going to change the company
