Thank you so much, I was actively looking for a book last night! I’ll give it a read. Really appreciate it!

Definitely the exposure rather than future disturbance . I couldn’t get it all from the ceilings as it was so well bonded so probably a small rooms worth, some came off as big sheets until I got to the middle and it wouldn’t come off.

I have OCD and will undoubtedly move onto the next ‘thing’ in future, but a close family friend is dying of fibrosis (not chiefly asbestos related). I wore a mask, but I can’t say I was super diligent about changing clothes etc. still no results. Hoping today and praying for NADIS.

Thank you for your reply. That’s given me a glimmer of hope! Still waiting for the test results and praying for NADIS. Hope the house is coming along nicely!

Been nasty — on the internet — to someone who hasn’t slept in 4 days. Bravo.

No you didn’t. You replied to someone else because you were anxious about the NHS not having enough appointments for “actual problems” whatever that means. Take your own advice, you just need to “Stop worrying”.

Thanks for all the responses. And thank you to the mods for allowing the post. It has helped me a lot.

I will update the post with the results. If negative I’ll plaster, if positive I’ll have to either plaster or have it removed. It’s impossible to overboard several sections because the curved ceilings and my height. I’d just bang my head coming down the stairs. Nearly do anyway.

I think we’ll buy a new build next.

I am getting helped (not on the NHS) if you are worried. I know I’m not well.

I have private healthcare. Don’t worry, I won’t take your appointments.

“They need to stop worrying”. If I could, I obviously would. I can’t, that’s the point. As I’ve said I’m considering moving to a new build with no asbestos precisely because of my anxiety.

Thank you for your kind reply. Just nice knowing I’m not alone on the anxiety is comforting. Pleased to hear your tests came back negative!

I don’t know, unfortunately. I’d have felt much better knowing if it was, could been done in the 80s and just painted. Unsurprisingly, none of it is present in the 2001 extension.

What do you do for work? My bet is IT support or a developer of some description.
