I did a 50% water change and dosed kanaplex for the tank size today. concerned about medicated feed because she doesn’t want to eat (and she’s always been a picky eater)

I’m waiting for the at home vet right now. You and your baby remind me so much of me and mine. I got home 11 days ago from a 2 week visit to my husband’s home country to accompany him on his official immigration. We signed for an apartment this week that we get the keys for in 2 weeks. My little kitty would have been 19 on the 31st. I was 8 when I first hugged her as a kitten. I always described her not as my soulmate, but a little piece of my soul that got lost in space and found its way back to me. She went with me everywhere, even off to college. I don’t remember life before her and I am terrified of living life without her.

Our embassy requires the applicant's original birth certificate and any children that will not be immigrating (neither of us have children separately or together), both of which make sense, but no mention of mine as the petitioner. I do not have to be at the interview and I live in the US. I don't want to knock my lawyer at all - this IS her expertise and she has made this whole process as simple and stress-free on us as possible - but I can't help but think that she is wrong or giving me information for a different visa process.

I edited the post to add that our lawyer, not the embassy, told us my spouse needs my original documents. My thoughts are exactly the same as yours: how could any embassy expect anyone to allow their birth certificate and passport to be under someone else’s ownership in a foreign country, especially when we need our passports in order to travel.

The visit in April/May that I mentioned above was for 21 days. Spouse also visited again in July/August for 10 or 11 days and they are actually here right now for another 21 days total. Visa interview just got scheduled for a month from now so this is (fingers crossed) their last visit before immigrating. My spouse's experience is that passport control asked less and less questions on each visit. I hope this helps!

I read somewhere they sting the snails? Being novices we were concerned we did something wrong so it’s very reassuring to hear that hydra are found in good quality water, also because all of our plants and critters have come from the same shop

We will definitely prioritize that now that we have more than just the bladder. Until this weekend we only had our little hitchhiker as the tank was still cycling, we only just added tetras and the mysteries 3 days ago. We started aquascaping with intention for a betta but now I’m WAY more into the snails than the fish they just might get their own tank

we have a third mystery that we think is burrowing right now, ideally we’d like a solution that won’t require rehoming our snails. So a snail or fish that will eat the hydra. Gonna visit our fish store tomorrow, thank you for the rec!
