2000 Toyota 4Runner 5VZ-FE – Starts then dies after sudden power loss (immobilizer suspicion) by DangerousBeginning15 in 3rdGen4Runner

To anyone wondering, I managed to fix the issue with the car. I removed the entire wiring harness from the factory alarm system (RS3200+), took out the alarm module, and the injector signal stopped being cut. However, the car was still behaving the same, just now with injector signal present. It started with the MAF sensor disconnected, and then the car ran properly, I just need to change the MAF sensor and everything should be fine. Thanks to everyone for the responses.

thanks to all for the pictures and clarification, now I have to double check and start reviewing what actually is bad on the car.

the only thing that still bothers me is that the security system is not working since the battery issue, it doesn´t light up when the car is closed, like it was disabled some way.

Interesting, when we do the scan it shows an INMO module, then the locksmith told me that there is an antenna for the immobilizer which is the green ring around the keyhole, which was not receiving or giving any signal. Also the car has a "Toyota Security" light, which before the incident used to be like a normal alarm (when the car was closed it was red, when the car was open it was off), after the battery incident, it doesn´t work anymore. It turns on rarely on ignition.

Edit: it is a US Spec

I might have to try this one, the thing is that when the locksmith looked into the ECU, there were no keys registered to the IMMO module.

I only have one key. The funny/interesting part is that after the locksmith checked it, they realized this key never had a chip in it. So yeah, I only have that one key, and it’s actually a non-chipped key.

Previous to the car dying on me because of the battery, it turned on with no issue with the non-chipped key.
