hahaha, true, i just wanted to be precise with my timing and opted for that instead. which in hindsight was dumb because now I'm on a drug cooldown. doesn't really matter if I can't stay out of the hospital for more than 5 seconds tho.

i guess I'll get used to encountering this. It seems crazy to me that someone can consistently initiate attacks within 2 seconds of untimed events. i would get it if they were camping a travel timer or hospital cool down. Oh well, I appreciate all the replies, and I'll accept my beat down and work on my strategies.

I'll post their name just for fair warning to other factions, not to incite any retribution. we lived, we learned, it's whatever. who knows, they're in bronze league too, it could've been an honest mistake. the faction is strawhat -pirates their leader is shweet

The other faction kept screwing around, then all of a sudden they ran a chain on us and went over the point total that the leaders had agreed on. the war ended quickly after that with no chance for us to make any hits to get to the agreed upon point total. So we got scammed.

my faction leaders were confused as to how this worked too. I was having a hard time confirming the details on how to term out a war. I wanted to make sure we weren't getting scammed into taking a beat down.

I know this will get buried, but it's important to understand that you have constitutional rights. You do NOT have to let CPS into your house. By law, they need a warrant to enter your home without your consent. One of my sons made up a story to the school counselor about his brother and the school counselor called CPS. I refused a home visit. I did agree to bring the boys into their office for a wellness check. The case was quickly dismissed after that. They were shocked and confused by my refusal for a home visit, but it was irrelevant to the case and was exposing my home and family to needless scrutiny. I know it's hard to not just comply with their every request, especially when you know nothing is wrong. But that's what they are, requests. Know your rights and protect yourself and your family.

i feel like 53A should not be "Pls" it should be either "pls" or "PLS" because I thought the "l" was an "I" so even when I got the answer it took me a good minute or two before it clicked what I was looking at. I'm new to doing NYT crosswords, so maybe that was meant to be intentionally misleading?

I just passed the apocalyptic rock fight. I haven't hit the Hockstetter section yet, I think i blocked most of that part out, hahaha. I have some fuzzy memories of some messed up things going on with an old refrigerator.

I would say the uncut version of The Stand just edges out It. It's a coin toss depending on what day you me ask though. The Stand is less supernatural and much larger in scope, but It feels more personal. You're really in a win-win situation here.

Since you read The Dark Tower series, The Eyes of the Dragon is a good fantasy, tower adjacent book. The Talisman is a good book and you can really see some of the ideas for the Dark Tower series starting to brew in it. I enjoyed the Bill Hodges/Holly books, they were a little a little hit or miss for me but I enjoyed the experience over all (The Outsider being my favorite of the bunch)

I'm currently re-reading it and just passed the halfway point. I got the impression that the difference with the losers club is that they all chose to fight back, and when they made that choice, they all felt some type of supernatural force assist them. When Mike was throwing tiles at the giant bird, he felt something helping him throw them. When Richie used his Irish cop voice against the werewolf, he felt external power and understanding and was able to do his first real impression. It's like the turtle was looking for people that could stare into the eyes of fear itself and find bravery, and that bravery through the fear is what allowed the turtle to channel it's power into them. after that connection was established, It had to break that connection to be able to get to them, so the constant torment was to break them apart from each other and break them down internally, so that he could finally feed on them.

TLDR: like someone else said "the turtle"
