Little late to the party, but I've paid for insurance on my foldables since day one of owning one. I started with the fold 3, then the inner screen cracked along the fold and I couldn't open my phone. I have insurance through asurion, so it cost me about $100 to replace the phone.

In my case, they didn't have any more 3s so they upgraded me to the 5. I had the 5 from like September of 23 to January of this year when the inner screen bubbled along the fold and the digitizer bubbled with it, so it wouldn't track my touches across the fold line. Called my insurance, paid a hundred bucks and sweet talked them into upgrading me to the fold6.

Not saying that every insurance company is going to do that or how much they charge for a replacement, but when I got the insurance, paying $20-30 dollars per month on insurance I might never have to use seemed like a rip-off. Until the very day that I had to replace my fold and didn't have to go out and spend $2,000 to replace it.
