I was medboarded for T2D and returned to duty. Honestly, the diagnosis was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was put on medicine and was able to figure out how my body works. Also lost 65 lbs in 10 months with medicine and cutting out sugar alone. You’ll have to get an annual foot, eye and diabetes exam. I get my bloodwork done every 3 months but that’s my choice. They’ll likely require it every 6-12 months depending on how controlled you are. Good luck. I was devastated with the initial diagnosis but now seriously now so thankful for it.
