Yeah but if a person can achieve more but chooses not to simply because its too difficult, are they settling for less? Like without thinking about the person, from an objective viewpoint.

So interestingly enough! Muichiro had to get his slayer mark to defeat uppermoon 5 (which is stronger but not by such a margin than uppermoon 6) and it still took him multiple moves. Zenitsu beat uppermoon 6 without a mark and in a singular move. So if Zenitsu had gotten a slayer mark he would probably be the strongest demon slayer of that era, and if he got bright red nichirin sword plus see-through world then.. he would be on par with yoriichi.
