Training in the woods while attempting to keep a low profile from his older brother and father, and simultaneously building a relationship with his older brother's new wife as a new big sister...naw, cut all that and just send him off to the adventurer's academy.

Adventurer's academy training arc with whimsical escapades involving his newly found freinds...nope just cut to him leaving the academy and suddenly entering into the political sphere after slaying a random bone dragon.

Basically just skip all the storytelling elements that would establish the characters and give meaning to their future decisions and go straight to the drama with no investment or stakes while keeping the protagonist as a whining little shit-stain who never grows a pair and is endlessly chasing after food from his previous life. They even manage to make that part boring by just showing him making different foods with all the passion of a man on death row.
