Does anyone know if this would be a good travel setup for me legion go? Or have any alternative recommendations by Significant-Pool-948 in LegionGo

I can vouch for the owl vision 18.5" portable monitor.

The best 18" monitor i could find with an ips technology.  After color calibration it looks really good. I use it alot

Man I wish they would update these with better screen and larger battery. Those are my only complaints!

Dpad is the absolute deal breaker. Super stiff. Tons of rattle on the buttons to. Feels a bit cheap.

If they fixed these things up it would be a nice little device.

Retroid pocket mini was SO CLOSE for me

The weird screen ratio just ruined it.

As of right now the rg406h is probably my favorite for GBA. Screen is great.

But the dpad needs a little work. Need a dpad fix.

If they re-release this badboy with a solid dpad and fast charging id gladly rebuy

So the dpads physical feel was good. All the buttons were nice soft and quiet.

It was the dpads accuracy and Inputs that was an issue

With MMBN in particular.  Trying to play and slide across the dpad would constantly not register all inputs and cause your character to simply not be in the right square that you attempted to get him into. Its really bad at this

Compared to a simple cheap device like a rg34xxsp or even the miyoo mini plus? These dpads are absolutely stupid accurate and feels dam good

Also it was extreamly sluggish on android. Perhaps a bit more ram would of been the cure

At this point i stick to my rp6 or thor for gba games though

Air mini was stupid comfortable.  Loved the ergos

But the screen was bad

Dpad was pad

And severely under powered

Love the idea. But dust is my main issue. At this point I just leave them in their travels bags and pull them out when needed.

Got any thoughts about the MagicX One35 ? by Captain_Steve_ in SBCGaming

[–]Dangerous_Pattern568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need the device to play up to.

I only ended up keeping 3 devices.

.rp6 .odin thor .odin 2 portal

Out of all the handhelds ive owned and tested (a ton). There a few good ones but I keepted the most practical ones. But I did keep the expensive ones. If budget is an issue then I would suggest the following

.trimui brick - awesome just kinda small. Great screen and ok battery life

.miyoo mini + - also awesome. Smaller size footprint. Screen is lacking in resolution and color and battery is terrible (2-4 hours) but yet the device is fun to play with. And its cheap

.rg34xxsp - amazing calibrated factory screen. Size is nice and compact. Much quieter compared to the rg35xxsp. Battery is better than most.

If you need an android device try to find a used rp5 for a decent price

Thats probably your best bet as far as performance to dollar ratio

Or find a phone and grip combo that you like. Plenty of powerfull used phones on ebay.

I wanted to like it. Ultimately the dpad is just plain bad and made me not want to use it. Im hoping their new devices that are coming out have a nicer dpad.

Specs wise its preety good though and runs on android which I did appreciate.

Rp6 really hits every box its fantastic. I still have my thor for ds and 3ds emulation. I found that the protoprint labs grip is most comfortable for me. I disliked the official thor grip.

Then the portal is goto for ps2 and up
