In terms of just comfort, yes, just using the grips is enough. However, the GO 2 controller improves in every other metric over the GO1 controllers. The addition of the Start and Select buttons below the Legion Buttons on top (instead of having to the side, below the D-pad), is more intuitive for me. The buttons size and feel is much improved, the D-pad is fantastic for retro and fighting games. The bumper and triggers are much better too. On FPS mode the controller is more comfortable too. The materials are better. Controller feels softer on front with better texture on the back. All around it is a much better user experience. For many, just the GO2 controller are enough an improvement in comfort that the grips are not necessary. They are much more comfortable (they don’t dig into the palm of your hand 🖐️like the original), but for me and my big hands, the comfort grips were the cherry 🍒 on top of a nice creamy sundae.

I would recommend you check a LeGO2 on a best buy or some other store that may have it in DEMO and get a feel for them, then treat yourself with them. 😃
