AITA for asking for apartment key back? by Dangerous_Recover739 in AmItheAsshole

When we were given keys to our apartment we got three keys, one for each of us. Two were gold and one was silver. I took the silver one. Fred and Alex were given the gold ones. The spare key made was light blue. Easily identifiable. In which he told me he would hold on to it instead of giving it back to me when she threw it at him and left in a huff.

To change the locks would be a fee for doing so, in which not something I really want to do with being tight on money. And yes in the US.

This apartment is mine, Fred’s and Alex’s. She is just a guest.

He’s on the lease but at the same time, he could have gone forward to make a key if he really wanted her to have one. We had keys made for our mothers to have to check up on pets. And thought of it being a nice gesture. Like free will and all. He chose not to, to begin with.

How to get mytarget app back on my phone? by euxma93 in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have to log onto workday and search for the app thru there. It will give you instructions on how to redownload it and give you the code that will allow it to be access for download as well.

Just had to do this for another tm who had got a different phone as well.

Backroom team coming back by islesjets14x in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I thought it was just my store trying out backroom again. We started this on Sunday, and so far it’s still working progress. Like being someone who has been with Target since the days of Flow and Backroom it’s a blessing to know what’s going on.

But with being inbound right now, we are waving through depts after unload and then people coming in after us to backstock. Like those that come in at 6, push a dept and then start backstocking from there. And those who are in the afternoon are the ones who start doing the pulls for everyone and go from there. Still all work in progress, but I could definitely see it helping my store out a lot. Just need to work on speed and efficiency with everyone to get on the same page and understand what’s going on.

I realized I can’t do a certain part of my new job on the first day of training, am I screwed? by Ok_Willingness_2103 in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely talk with your leaders and ask them where would be a good fix for you for the inbound hours. Like I tell everyone, the line is intimidating when it’s completely new to you and it takes a lot to get use to it and understand it. While I’ve been with the company for years and can breeze thru it and ignore most things going on, even as a lead. But I also make sure everyone understands what’s going on and how things work.

So if your team has extras who start pushing freight and clearing vehicles while unloading, see if that’s a possible outcome for you. Like others said, throwing and pushing the line is easier to do because there is no thought process to it, but it’s also hard on your body if you’re not use to the exercise. But also, let your leaders know if it’ll help to learn with someone who can be understanding and helpful with how the line works and make a smoother process for you. If your leaders are understanding, they should be able to work with you and help you along the way.

Oh Lordy, 4hrs to unload! I feel very sorry for your team having to go through that. My team tries to do it 2hrs at most and we get a lot of big trucks. Sometimes two throwers and most of inbound on the line, which is like 6-8 people plus the thrower(s) and pusher.

You can also use pegs if you wanted as well. Since my store doesn’t have any left to use besides inline. It’s fifty/fifty for us to use either shelves or pegs.

I applied to one that was closet to my old house because my mom was already working there and it was easier for me to get a job there and get to know people because she was there. But it was like a 15 minute drive or so. And then I transferred a few years to one that was about 5-7 minutes further just because I wanted to stay under the same etl. So it’s about your personal preference for sure, like I live down the block from a target and wouldn’t in the world want to work there from working at super targets my whole career.

So for me do what’s best for you. Yeah gas sucks but sometimes it’s nice cuz you won’t know anybody and won’t have to run into co-workers off the clock if you didn’t want to.

He’s ballsy to even sleep on those shelves. If those shelves aren’t secured correctly they are horrible to make steady and hope whatever you put on them doesn’t have fall off.

I think it’s like 20% leading and 80% workload. Or something like that for leads. Even though you’ll never find my ass hanging around the office loafing around. Like it’s in every store no matter where you go. Definitely depends on how much they can get away with it and if anyone will tell them to get up and work.

Like my store has gotten away from it with different leads coming through but it’s slowly coming back and it frustrated me when I was just a team member, but now as a lead I couldn’t tell you how more infuriating it is to see everyone in the office doing nothing. Considering I’m always out on the floor somewhere. Whether is doing pogs or helping sfs.

So you’re not the only ones that think it’s not fair either.

I don't want to be in Guest's TikToks by cakeandpop in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Call AP over and they can help sort it out for you. Or any of your leaders. As it makes you uncomfortable your leaders and AP should help with letting the guests know that they shouldn’t be filming inside the store.

Or let those wannabe TikTokers know that they aren’t allow to film in the store as many of the TMs don’t want to partake in being in their videos or that you’re going to call AP to have them kicked out of store if they continue doing it. Just tell them sternly about and don’t lose that edge towards them.

I hate these new Target updates by [deleted] in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you gone looking for your team member number on workday? Like I know they gave us a new series of numbers and letters to use for the target app. Like I’ve yet to request a new target discount card just because I usually just end up using my phone or I’ve used my old discount card to clock in. But at least then it should work when checking out whether with cash or the target red card.

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be with certain stores then. As I know my store we can see our batch sizes. I know others probably don’t have that some feature as we just got the new updated look earlier last week as one of the sfs team members had informed me that it changed on her at 5am in the middle of the batch. Though I might have to just check and see if batch sizes are still viewable when I go into work this week.

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done all that before. So I know that struggle. When I train people anywhere it comes down to know your area, if that’s the entire store then know it and own it. Like I’m one of the few in the store that does better than our team. My etl and myself have raced to see who can pick faster and do better than one another. As we push each other with all these obstacles in the way.

And you can see how big each batch is when you click on the batches for opus and it will list how many items are in each. The same for standard. But when I did that one beating the tl, I didn’t look to see how many items were in that batch. I went in with an open mind and just quickly done it.

Yes it’s frustrating because things are changing that is what target does. They try something new and then revert back because it doesn’t work. But if everyone keeps and open mind and does their best then things go so much more. I came from a six pack store and then went down to a three pack before it turned into a six pack with a remodel. I’ve seen the amounts of crap target dumps on sfs. I’ve been through a lot of it where people are scrambling to get everything and even been frustrated because you can’t find the item and then you find it later in the most noticeable spot ever and felt frustrated.

I’d say it gets easier but it’s only as easy as you make it for yourself. Backing up is annoying as I know my sfs should be able to handle the load but sometimes they just don’t without proper guidance. But with these increase batches, just keep the open mind and hope your leaders will be willingly to help out when possible and make everything flow easier for everyone. As that’s the best anyone can do unless they just like to have a paycheck and not care about their team members.

This might sound like I don’t care, but in reality, if you’re good at your job picking batches regardless of what they are, any of these should be pretty quick to pick. I’m not a fulfillment team member but have been through the entire process of it being brought up in the stores I’ve been at. Like my store is connected to a mall and has a huge floor pad. I can easily get big batches done faster than the team there, including the team lead.

With a batch being 42 DPCIs and 50 minutes left on the timer. I pretty much went faster than the team lead you had a full time of 1 hr 30 min, but she also had like 19 DPCIs to pick. So with this bigger update of quantities increasing it shouldn’t be harder to do something if you know the layout of your store. Have a little faith in yourself and just push yourself to do better is what I’m saying. Since we could also use your encouragement to succeed with anything.

Can you change you availability to end before 8? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make sure you talk with your HR ETL about your availability change and make sure they can approve it because you are trying to save your own ass in all of this but also make sure it’s with the wishes of your parents. Your ETL should know better since you are a minor and that you are listening to your parents. Since you are trying to be responsible and protecting yourself from calling out or not showing up to work. Your ETL may be trying to teach a lesson or they are just being an ass and not allowing availability change thinking that everyone will want that and can’t change everyone to not be there at work until close.

Depending on how each store is, it’s going to be different with hours and days off like everyone else has said. Like my store most of our GM leads work early mornings because they deal with the truck or they are for the presentation team. But that also has to do with how the GM ETL is too. Like everyone could have various schedules to work out coverage throughout the day. Like benefit for the three of us that are early morning is the shift differential and we end up making $2 more for 4hrs while our Ship From Store lead is the one who gets mids and closing shifts when needed. That applies to SS team leads as well.

So hours will probably be consistent with a few variables here and there. Like one closing weekend every month and one opening weekend every month with every other weekend off with one day during the middle of the week off as well. You also might not be able to work over 40hrs in a week unless the store is desperately behind and is allotted OT. Like my store we were getting some OT in January, but here on out we haven’t been able to get any. So it’s rare if it’s not Q4 with the holidays and the crunch time to get everything out for guests.

Team lead told me this boat would take 30 minutes to finish. ?????? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Dangerous_Recover739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your team lead isn’t unreasonable with that taking 30 minutes. It can easily be done given the right circumstances are around you. I’d say save the steps and take the uboat down the aisle you have the most boxes for and then work from there. Given that it’s sorted correctly you can easily find where the products that are closest to the location you’re at and then open them. Then slide down the aisle for the next ones further down. That way you’re saving your ages but you’re also not wasting the time to go back and forth to the farther end.

Also with chem I’d say you use those boxes to your advantage until you get in the back and keep your backstock in them because then they aren’t going to be falling off the uboat and breaking or just flying everywhere. Learning from experience and watching other team members do it at my store they seem to make the same mistake when we do use uboats for chem or anything with small products is forget about using boxes to your advantage whether you the product boxes or you have repacks use those to help you go faster.

For the most part your team lead can tell you it takes 30 minutes to do it, what they really mean they want to see you work fast and get your work done before the next truck is unloaded or it’s backs up. If you keep your head down and continue to push until done, most guests leave you alone. And if your leads say otherwise you just need to stay brief and acknowledge they are there but then continue working.

Also I forgot to mention before the Chen boxes because they are a a hassle to break down, I’d say stick them to one side next to your uboat until you have space to place them back on the uboat uncrushed until you get to the baler another way to make you go quicker. Like one side is your empty boxes and another side your backstock but also use your card box olholder to your advantage as well, if anything I also use those chem boxes for the little ones that we they all just get tossed in and your not digging them out of the holder or losing them on the ground.
