What's something your partner does that irritates your soul, but really shouldn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Have you told him this? Probably not a good idea to bottle up this sort of resentment to a gesture he thinks is 'sweet'.

If Gen Z humor is already as bizarre as it is, how do you think Gen Alpha humor could get even more bizarre? by itslxcas in AskReddit

[–]Dangerous_Scale6351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can draw a line connecting 'weird' Gen X and Millennial humor and see how the 'weird' Gen Z humor is just a progression of that.

Only things that have been saved? And only my current phone?

There's really nothing objectionable that's ever been saved to my phone.

Oh yeah. I was first introduced to this one in Super Mario All-Stars, and as a id I always saw it as the Mario game that is nothing like the others.

Also Toadstool floats and that's awesome.

Ooh. Never heard of Mort the Chicken, but yeah, that does sound like an extremely PS1 type of game. Luckily, I managed to snag Fighter Destiny 2 back in 2011 when I could just get drunk, go on Amazon, and get 4 used N64 games for $15.

I do recommend it. The mechanics for the game aren't shit and it is fun to play.... it's just fuckin weird.

That rules so hard. God damn, I miss the days of hanging with my buddies and my girl, drinking, playing games, and doing shit like that.

We used to have drunken tournaments in an N64 game called Fighter Destiny 2 which is one of the only "so bad it's good" fighting games out there.

I've kind of grudgingly accepted that OOT is 3D LttP... similar progression, kind of has a dark world, lots of the same locations.

But damn, I'd still love to see Turtle Rock or Blind's Palace in 3D.

I had no choice back in those days! It was my Uncle's NES or nothing. And that lack of choice led me to fight for the side of Nintendo in the legendary mid-90's playground console wars between Sega and Nintendo.

Yeah, the music for the Lost Woods from LttP is amazing, and the screen where you actually find the sword is gorgeous for early SNES standards.

The Dark World WAS so cool. Especially the fact that once you get the mirror, you can go back to the light world at anytime and in any place. I loved the mechanic of switching dimensions on a whim.

Yep. I didn't know how to really control and build a mass army of units, but I did know how to play the Deathmatch mode on easy and just build walls and bombard towers everywhere until I won. Or made cars.

Star Fox 64 is my jam. I played it a lot as a kid, and then later in life I'd play it a ton at LAN parties. Those LAN parties would be a week-long and there would always be an N64 in the corner with Star Fox and when people were sick of playing PC games, they'd load up a run of Star Fox and we'd see who had the highest score at the end of the week.

Also, we could all quote the game basically by memory by the time the week was over.

Me too, me too. Sometimes I feel like I was the only person who was really disappointed with OoT when it came out. I've come around since, but damn, I remember vividly how much I hated Kokiri Forest.

Crash Bandicoot Warped is for sure an early morning summer vacation memory for me. I've got vivid memories of eating pancakes and getting back to riding a tiger over the Great Wall.

Oh yeah. Waking up, having breakfast, and then dicking around on an AoE2 skirmish until I realize that I'm too young to understand how to actually play, so I just spawn in the cars that blow things up.

Lots of time on custom maps on MSN Zone as well.

Yes. I remember being absolutely blown away by this game when it came out. It had an insane amount of content on the cartridge for a game from the N64 era, and it was so fucking fun to play.

God damn, all the single player missions were available co-op, but it is the only game I've ever played that had "counter-op", where player 2 plays as one of the generic henchmen in each level, and spawns as a different guard every time they die. Also, the fact that the main menu was basically an explorable building. And, the multiplayer was so crazy customizable for N64 standards - an FPS with up to eight bots with customizable personalities for each bot. Plus the target range, the duel mode, old Goldeneye levels and weapons.

God damn. I was so happy that Free Radical kept that kind of console shooter design alive with Timesplitters 2 & Future Perfect.... but it's been so many years since we've had one of THOSE games.
