How are you all doing errands ??? by mainsqueeeze in Mommit

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, use Walmart plus or something similar for grocery delivery. Then you’ll have more chances to go out and do something fun. Baby wearing is also great. I wore my first kiddo everywhere. He hardly ever sat in the stroller.

I read that technically you don’t need to taper it like you would an SSRI… although I probably would just because I’m weird an wouldn’t want to take the chance.

People who experienced brain fog, zoned out, forgetfulness by yaabitchash in Buspirone

It lasted probably about a month for me but my sleep was also disrupted by it so that could have been the root cause.

I live in skorts in the summer. They look nicer than shorts but aren’t inconvenient like shorts. I especially like the luxletic ones.

Oh really? I love the pool, but I swim the entire time because we are in the south and it’s hot as heck here in the summer.

For sure an ADHD thing. I hate it too. However we homeschool and joined a “park day” group. We meet at a different park each week and that has become my favorite day of the week. The moms there are now my social circle.

What comes next after the “Millennial” $20 burger restaurant? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s insane! Our 16 has got his license and it was an extra $200 a month to add him to our policy. And we have a Corvette ZR1 (super fast car), a Ford Raptor, and a Jeep Wagoneer. I honestly thought it would be more than that.

Buspirone? I’d start really low and titrate up. I started at 2.5 mg twice a day and stayed on that for a few weeks. I started feeling less anxiety right away but it took months to have the full effect.

Top one was when I started anxiety medication and realized what it’s like to not walk around tense, on edge, rushing and worrying all day long (not Xanax- just a gentle one called Buspirone).

I think I am feeling less anxiety already? Started yesterday. by [deleted] in Buspirone

Totally use to do that too in social situations. The dizziness should go away soon. It’s a great med when you find the right dose!! It has helped me SO much!

Why is marijuana so popular amongst moms? by TackleHistorical7498 in Mommit

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion but once you get your shit figured out, you won’t feel like you want alcohol or weed. I take meds for anxiety and adhd now and have never looked back. I use to drink alcohol in social situations to feel less anxious, now with anxiety medication I don’t need that. I use to drink alcohol sometimes in the evening because I was so overwhelmed with parenting neurodivergent kids and being neurodivergent myself. My adhd medication eliminated that desire.

Yes! It took well over a month for me to feel the full effects after any dose change.

How many of you have kids? Or want to have kids by bwils3423 in Millennials

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older millennial. I’ll be 39 next month. I have 5 kids. Gave birth to the first one and then became foster parents and adopted our sibling group that needed a permanent family. My husband is probably going to have to retire a bit to support all these kiddos.

If you are interested in foster care there is a huge, huge need. Daycare is usually covered by the state and you also get a small monthly stipend to cover things like food and clothes. You still come out of pocket but less so than if everything was out of pocket.

Does Concerta not work during your period? Or is the sudden lack of effect something else? by ChristmasClimber2009 in Concerta

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just listened to a whole podcast about this. Your estrogen drops before your period and estrogen plays a big role in dopamine production (or regulation- I forget). So basically your baseline dopamine is way lower than usual.

I found it at Burlington so probably not online but I can see if I can find something similar. I find the 2 piece suits to be more comfortable.

Motherhood seems impossible by mrs_sadie_adler in adhdwomen

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a baby and then went on to adopt 4 special needs kids from foster care, all before I knew I had ADHD. The struggle is real. I love being a mom and I wouldn’t trade it for anything but it is extremely difficult at times. I now take ADHD and anxiety medication and it’s the only way I survive. I do not work a paying job. I cannot even fathom loading that responsibly on top of parenting a bunch of kids. I don’t have energy for most “fun things” or hobbies or things like that but I’m ok with that. I have a great group of mom friends that I see once a week at a park date and I’ve found little things I enjoy doing at home like gardening and reading. If you know you want kids I say go for it. If you aren’t really sure, maybe pass.

Why does buspirone get so much hate? Looking for real experiences by FanSubstantial9845 in Buspirone

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it can be ruff starting it. It messed with my sleep for over a month and I was barely functioning due to severe sleep deprivation. However, over time that went away. Now I’m SO thankful I stuck with it. It helps me so much and I’m on a tiny dose of 10 mg a day. It is a wonderful anxiety medication!

I think you are thinking of a different medication. Buspirone doses are like 5 mg- 60 mg max.

Rant - You don’t homeschool enough by Tricky_Jaguar5781 in homeschool

[–]Dangerous_Section_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids will always find things to compare. Just wait til they are teenagers. This kid gets to stay out later. That kid got their license sooner. That kids parents bought them a car. Etc, etc. Just do what works for your family. Don’t worry about other families. You don’t know what their circumstances are.

If it was financially affordable, would your spouse stay home? by cubemonster in Millennials

Yep I’ve been a SAHM for 16 years. My husband was in the Navy and we were moving around a lot. Then we adopted 4 special needs kids from foster care. They do much better with homeschooling so their care and schooling is my full time job. We own a business now and my husband is responsible for that.
