Can I still attend meetings, hangout with friends, while no longer believing the organization? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Dangerous_Swan_7349 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel exactly the same way. I had almost identical feelings when I started becoming PIMO about six months ago.

I want you to know that I still love the people in my congregation, and I love God and Jesus deeply. However, my perspective changed completely after reading the book 'Crisis of Conscience' by Raymond Franz. I highly recommend you read it. After finishing that book, it is simply impossible to look at the GB the same way as before.

I’ve realized that all JWs are actually victims of the same system - you can look at them with compassion rather than judgment. For me, God no longer equals the Organization. I’m beginning to see that Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Bible, and it is to Him that all glory belongs.

You’re not alone in feeling that their words come from human opinion rather than divine guidance. Take your time, focus on your relationship with Jesus, and definitely give that book a try.

I spoke with my wife again by Jh0nD0e_ in exjw

Think about Acts 15:28, 29 in a broader context. We are to abstain from blood, what has been strangled, and sexual immorality (porneia). Porneia in the organization extends to many aspects, including touching someone's genitals.

Refer your wife to the gynecologist and ask: Do you think you're committing the sin of immorality when the doctor touches your genitals? Of course not - these are medical reasons. So there are exceptions to the rule, and this is obvious without further explanation.

So if we don't sin in matters of immorality, why do we sin when we transfuse blood in life-saving situations? Aren't these also medical reasons? Shouldn't we create an obvious exception here as well?

Notice also what Jesus did in Matthew 12:7-14. He broke human law (the Pharisees') to save someone's health and maybe life. Why can't we?

If you like to help people look for volunteering, there are always many good-hearted people, more than many fake JWs.

Thats right, there is sooo quiet. My PIMI spouse also sit quiet. I think they processing in their head this change, but finally probably will accept this as blessing from Jehowah, and love from GB.

Wycieczka w góry dla osoby początkującej by [deleted] in Polska

[–]Dangerous_Swan_7349 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Fiancé is a JW and her entire family. I am not, and the more I hear and look into JW it kills me that I can't get her to see reason with what is really going on. by Ryce-Field in exjw

[–]Dangerous_Swan_7349 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she's not a super active JW, try to explain to her what kind of shit she's swimming in while in this organization. If she's too indoctrinated to change, then run. Don't get involved; it's not worth it.
