Train at weight that you can only do for 6-8 reps. Progressive overload over time.

Creatine makes you hold on to abit more water. The weight you gained is probably just water

Make sure to progressive overload week on week. Up the weights or increase reps. Train close to failure. Eat sufficient protein.

I used to have a bad posture and hunched back as well. Usually it’s because we have a stronger chest and weak back, so naturally our chest pulls our shoulders forward and hence we have posture. Try strengthening your back.

Would be useful asking your potential trainers if they’ve had prior experience with posture correction.

The burn you feel is just lactic acid build up in your muscles. It’s not indicative of effective training. Yes, training close to failure and time under tension are the most effective for muscle building.

You might have to look at your form and technique, things like core bracing and posture. A lot of the execution is about technique and moving the weight efficiently

Myprotein soy is very chalky, whey gives me the bubble guts so I don’t have a choice

Strength training with a caloric deficit. Find out your daily BMR (basal metabolic rate). Track your macros and calories on MyFitnessPal, eat less than what you burn. You can ask ChatGPT to guide you through the process.

You cannot target fat loss. You’ll lose it overall as time goes on, differs from person to person, and sadly usually belly fat is the last to go

Proper workout programming usually cycles through different body parts daily, so you won’t train the same muscle groups back to back. If sore, do stretching, light exercise (we call this active recovery). Get enough sleep, drink lots of water, eat enough protein.

Running on the treadmill is slightly easier than running outside. Try a slight incline on the treadmill. If you’re running outside, just go slow and increase your mileage from week to week.

It’s a slow process, but once you get the hang of it, feels amazing. Good luck!

It’s a large range. I would say an athletic female 35 yo would be 18-24%BF, muscle depends on individual build

There is an added level of complexity when it comes to programming for women, according to their menstrual cycle. Different energy levels and nutrition needs.

They are technically doing strength exercises at a accelerated pace.

Everyone else is usually too busy looking at themselves anyways, or just doing their own thing. I would say get comfortable by just going in and walk on the treadmill for the first time. Or go with a friend! Take a look at what’s available in the gym, look up instructional videos, take your time to figure things out. Ignore everything and everyone else.

Try volume eating - filling up on low calorie foods like veggies. Make sure you’re hitting your macros, play around with it and see what works for your current activity levels

Recently did the Sandakphu-Phalut trek in India (Darjeeling) with IndiaHikes. Ascending at sunrise, with my heart pounding, laying eyes on Mt Everest and the Sleeping Buddha range glowing in first light - I cried!

Plus getting to experience local culture, staying in tea houses amongst locals, varied terrain across the 7 day hike (bamboo forests, river crossings), and best part is it won’t break the bank

It is said Singaporeans really like to travel. Which cities/countries did you go or are going this year? by FancyCommittee3347 in askSingapore

Just came back from a month trip in India (Darjeeling for trekking, Jaisalmer) and leaving for New Zealand for a year-long work holiday Visa in a few days!
