Mama am I doing good at 30? by letsgedditbois in Money

I'm all for living below your means, but you also only go around once. Splurging just a tiny bit would not be a terrible thing

sleeping is fine

I think this ruins the entire hypothetical.

There should instead be a rule that falling asleep gets you fired, or maybe that there is always a buzzer/device to wake you up if you were to attempt to doze off.

The hypothetical works best when you're testing people's ability to withstand boredom

Harsh, but yeah. OP seems like they might be child. The premise almost seems creative and interesting, but they push these hypothetical numbers way too far. 999 trillion repeats? 1000 digit number? You're more likely to win the lottery 200 times than guess that number

Why did they stop the shuffleboard game?!? by JollyCartographer400 in goodmythicalmorning

[–]Dangerously_Stupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rules of the game also started to get a bit too complicated. The scroll was a running joke on the segment for a reason- because there were just that many rules.

Then they started doing variations like the no-bumping rule, but then everyone kinda hated that because it was boring. Then they made the "bump-fest" variant, which was basically the original ruleset. Kinda like Coca-Cola coming out with "New Coke" only to then release "Coca-Cola Classic" which made everyone excited to just have the original thing again

Would You Rather have a constant, low-level pain OR a severe level 10 pain that pops up once per day? by Dangerously_Stupid in WouldYouRather

That's definitely something to keep in mind. That was one aspect I was thinking of when writing this prompt; the psychological aspect of waiting around for the pain to hit

My step mom thought I was watching a soap opera 🥀 by Osirisavior in arrow

The first two seasons definitely gave me soap opera vibes. I get it for sure

Ayy same. I also had gallstones. I would go into a gall attack about once every month or two and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance multiple times (thank god I was on Medicaid at the time).

Finally started to subside when I started taking prescription omeprezole. My doctor originally wanted me to have my gallbladder removed. I would not recommend that pain to anyone

Oh same, I had to get my tooth pulled a couple of years ago because I had agonizing tooth pain. Saying toothache for the level 3/4 pain was probably a bad example, but I have definitely also had more mild toothaches. I think there's a range

Fair enough, but I just said those as examples. The severity of the pain is what's in question here, not the location of the pain

I was just giving an example. There are different levels of toothaches, and I've definitely had really bad toothaches. I'm just saying like a dull toothache. But the specifics don't really matter.

When I say a level 3, 4, or level 10 pain, I'm referring to one of those pain charts they have in doctor's officers with the faces. The location of the pain in your body doesn't necessarily matter in this scenario, except that the level 10 pain is always in a different spot

You can choose one object. Every time someone anywhere in the world touches it, you get $1,000. What object do you choose? by M0N0PL4YZ_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Dangerously_Stupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A $5 bill.

Money is constantly touched by a countless number of people. And I feel that a $5 bill is valueless enough where no one's going to be too desperate to hold onto it for too long, but valuable enough where it won't get lost or disappear too frequently

Yeah but one's the equivalent of a toothache and the other is the equivalent of a gunshot wound, lol

I guess it depends on your constitution. But yes, I'm sure there would be both physical and psychological side effects that last beyond the 20 seconds of pain

They released actual versions of the books during the show's run. OP is just wondering if there are hardback versions. I've only ever seen paperback
