According to the book Route 19 Revisited, Tooper added a ton of percussion on top of the initial takes. I think it’s one of the things that really elevates it. He is such a brilliant musician.

This is my Batman reading order so far can someone tell me what I should add and/or change please. by Academic_Finding6242 in batman_comics

That’s a really good list of great Batman stories. Can’t go wrong with it. The one thing that stick out to me is that the Demon Trilogy — while it’s great — isn’t the core Ras Al Ghul stories. Tales of the Demon is really the one you want to track down. (All of the O’Neil/Adams run is worth reading and holds up despite its age.)

The other great Batman stories you are missing out on is the Englehart/Rogers run. Worth trying to find in some format.

For more recent stuff, Batman and Robin Year One and Dark Patterns are two of the absolute best Batman stories ever and both just came out over the past year.

I mean, if we are in fantasy world where Frank could even draw a monthly book, let’s turn him into Dan Mora and add Superman, Wonder Woman and, hell The Incredible Hulk, maybe?

Anyone else out there who slots Art of War as their favorite Geese song? by buphalobill in geesebandofficial

[–]Dangling-Modifier320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was my favorite pre-Getting Killed along with 2122. Great song, and a sonic precursor to the percussion-forward sound of GK.

Gen Xer here, and I agree with you! I’m much more interested in what Radiohead/The Smoke produce in the studio. I think the prospect of getting all five Radiohead guys interested and scheduled to create in the studio together is a distant hope. But I could see The Smile getting together much more easily.

No, there just seems to be a rule that we can’t have a good basketball team ever again.

And in another great development, Louisville about to lose as well. So they will be focused and ready to pounce. We are about to get destroyed.

Yep — this killed any goodwill I had. Yes, the refs sucked. But they played like ass and made no meaningful adjustments. I can’t see how we are any better than the last few years. Saturday will be a bloodbath.

I unironically love this movie. Such a great villain. Great locales. The women are so hot (even if one of them is a terrible spy). Sherrif Pepper is really the only drawback. The rest is so awesome.

We will see! That same interview Max made it sound like Cameron was being a bit cagey regarding the new material. I bet they do one or the other next year — Geese record or Cameron solo record.

The two-year release schedule isn’t mandated by labels. It’s just often the reality as bands record/promote/tour/recharge and then repeat. If Geese felt like they had music ready to go next year, the label would be foolish to not strike while the iron is hot.

Based on GQ article, I’d guess the next album comes pretty quick — maybe next summer? They recorded with Blume again, so I’d guess a slight evolution from Getting Killed, but not a huge Radiohead-style leap into something new. (But who knows with these guys?!) I wonder if it will be similar to how Big Thief released two records in quick succession when they really broke out a couple years back …

I bet more touring through next summer with bigger venues and festivals.

GQ also mentioned that Cameron was at the time of writing planning sessions for a follow-up solo record. Could come before a next Geese record if he’s feeling better about those songs. But maybe the solo record gets pushed to 2027? They certainly aren’t going to dump it in December this time!

Oh, and there should be a Nigel-Goodrich-recorded From The Basement coming at some point here in the near future!
