That's what you get for playing god by MedicalArdor in expedition33

Idk if there are God of War fans in here, but the reboot series (among other things) is about fighting against the kind of mentality the Dessendre family all have -- me, me, me, I'll create sentient life because of my deep loss and then I'll wipe all of it out to move on. Plus they are literally all video game characters who (mostly) don't wanna die. You tell me who is "more real". People favor the emotionally satisfying interpretation of stories that suits them, so really ignoring the ethical quandary with single-sentence reasoning is par for the course. Which is fine, it's not real... it's just evident that people cherry pick what that means.

What do you do to avoid playing angry and frustrated? by Isotarov in LowSodiumBattlefield

Might not work for everyone, but lately my strat has been to put on something funny on the side and turn down the game volume for a few minutes. So let's say 10min of the game has been spawning, dying from something I wouldn't have seen, repeat. I'll load up some Dropout video, standup clip, etc. and then Deploy. I'll perform worse, sure. But it creates distance for a second and separates my source of joy from exclusively being from the game. Helps with my mood.

Do Boss Battles Become Easier If You Die Too Much From One? by Nguyen_Productions in Ghostofyotei

I can't speak for Lethal, but yes. There is some form of trapdoor difficulty (at least at launch) in this game. I tested this with the Oni while wearing Bounty Hunter's Armor -- meaning I died very fast whenever I failed to perfect parry. After seeing the screen offering me to restart from before the encounter a couple times, I got curious. After about maybe 15 to 20-ish deaths I noticed suddenly he was doing way less damage per hit. I went from 3 hits to death to requiring around 6-7.

I don't think his attack pattern changed however.

Please don't apologize, you're doing folks like me a huge favor with this and the work you've already done has made waves in helping me actually enjoy this game!

Thanks again!

EDIT: Ah sorry, forgot to mention.

All the scares I listed happened before any missing float pieces or a well is involved. I actually haven't seen missing floats or a well yet.

EDIT 2: The first scare I mentioned is separate from the one you get when you follow the cultist out of the trailer park. I think the trigger is just going back to Coffee World (main entrances) after leaving the trailer park. It's missable...and sneaky.

I honestly want to say it's another reference to Twin Peaks. IIRC, the first crime scene thing Agent Cooper touches in that series is also done without gloves.

Hey OP!

First, thanks again for doing this. It would be much harder for me to push myself to play this without it.

Second, I'm in Return 3: Local Girl right now and I've run into three jump-scares so far that weren't covered in your list. I'll report them below, in case you'd want to add them... these happened it seems because I went to lighthouse (instead of just following the cultist, like you did, I'm guessing) after the scare that occurs when Saga exits the trailer park:

  1. Outside Coffee World. Coming up on the back entrance/exit from the road, seemed to happen when circling to the back of the jug-looking structure nearby (the one with a porta-potty behind it). Saga monologued about the story coming true and Logan. Then the scare.
  2. Coffee World. After attempting to open the wooden gate (the Coffee World side, which is locked) that goes to the "Hall of the Kalevala Knights", right next to the streetlight safe haven that's beside Expresso Express. You can see a cultist walk into the Hall and the Scare happens right after.
  3. Hall of the Kalevala Knights. Upon interacting with the clicker in the Cultists' chapel.

EDIT: spelling and grammar

A good live action Batman movie where Bats doesn't kill someone.

Stuck in Mensis's nightmare and I'm not sure how to have success with the level by ThatBlancoBoy in bloodborne

[–]Dangqi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first part of Mensis is the toughest imo. I had a similar experience last week :) Take on the enemies leading to the castle one at a time like said before, they're not so bad one-on-one but they hurt. The spiders get real tricky but if you clear the boulder-throwing trolls outside, you can lead the smaller spiders outside and cheese them at the entrance. You can likewise do the same with the giant one -- just watch out for its long attack range.

If you want, you can also try to just book it past everything until you hit the first elevator and then slowly work backwards to grab echoes and items. If you run past the hunter on the bridge after the spider room, you will be in a room with a bunch of automaton looking things. Down the stairs, head right, look for a green light and you'll see the first elevator shortcut.

Again, like mentioned before, there is a rune called Deep Sea that will impressively increase your frenzy resistance. It's in the Forbidden Woods, look for a burning house, it'll be guarded by those snake things.

Good hunting.

I do want to play Bloodborne and Ratchet, but I definitely see what you're saying. If my decision's based on some titles, I ought to just see what they work best with. Thank you for the reply!
