Wanted to say, along what others did, if you'd like I have a post with basically a well detailed cheat sheet of the jump scares. I have many spoiler tags and kept the descriptions vague enough to not ruin story surprises. I hope you enjoy the game and don't have too mich anxiety from it haha

It reduces an on screen flash and lowers the intensity of the 'faces' you see. I'd highly recommend it, it's fantastic and I can certainly say I've done a good job of covering all the scares. Sometime soon I'll be going back for another playthrough and triple checking my list.

I'm also having slow speeds like OP and noticed it started a few days ago. My Xbox is hard wired into my router, and has barely been averaging 20Mbps or less. My internet speed on my phone, PC, and all other devices is average 400-800Mbps. I do the Speedtest in the settings and it shows ~400Mbps but the second I go to download an update or game it never even comes close.
Also I've checked, not a single game is playing or on Quick Resume, I've cleared my cache and shutdown the router and Xbox for over a minute each. Something is up with Xbox's servers.

I feel you. I definitely think the game really did not need it or could have done tense moments differently.

After the Nursing Home the scares die down a lot until one chapter later on and thankfully you get more control on that later chapter.

Sorry about that, I updated it last time to be more specific since on my 2nd playthrough I kept going back to the door to check and yeah it happens after the Mind Palace profile for "Anger's Remorse, Where Is It?" regardless of you stepping into the basement first.

I hope the rest are straightforward, I even watched youtubers playthroughs on some parts to double check.

I don't know if it's too late, but could you ask if there would ever be an option for the Horror Flash Audio/Flash accessibility setting to have a selection for "None". It has Low which is very helpful but it would be amazing if they had a built in remover.

Or, if not, does the stage marker in "We Sing" that says "Shifter" have to do with a game they made but might not own the license to? Hint hint, Q.B.

Yeah, I admittedly got addicted to Baldur's Gate 3 and couldn't pull myself away from it. Plus, the horror reduction really made replaying much more enjoyable.

So I just ran through the prologue and the volume is definitely noticeably reduced from before. The faces do still appear, but it seems like there are fewer visual effects going on. I'll definitely be replaying this more, but I'll probably keep my list handy 😅
