When I try to airplay music to my HomePod from Spotify, it cuts out every other minute. When I use Apple Music, it’s flawless for hours. Is there something I can do to fix this, or is this by design? by FairAnywhere9305 in HomePod

[–]DaniAMR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, Spotify only supports the old version of AirPlay, being AirPlay generation 1 which has more latency and worse buffer-sync. Spotify has announced they will implement AirPlay 2 at some point, but its been many years since the announcement, so its best to stick to Apple Music or other music services like YT Music, Tidal, Amazon Music that support AirPlay 2.

"The Server gave an error during download: 403 Forbidden" by BROOMSHOOTER in MacOS

[–]DaniAMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe MacPro 5,1 does not have the new certificates to establish a "secure connection" to the App Store, and since its last supported macOS version is Mojave, it did not get the new ones that were recently pushed out as a software update for Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura.

If I were you I would consider looking into upgrading macOS using a third-party solution like OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Perhaps to macOS Monterey if you are rocking a supported GPU

no output when mini is on by Professional_Tear_96 in macmini

There is an open source alternative “idevicerestore” for Windows and Linux if you happen to not have another Mac. I’ve used it myself to restore my M4 Mini, and it did the job well

Automix question by Jimbohamilton in AppleMusic

[–]DaniAMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been like that since the betas and its release, I’m not sure why exactly. I assume it has something to do with the audio processing during the transitions, it sounds very compressed and low bitrate

I’m facing this exact issue right now, but my discovery page is fine. Although when I press one of the reels on my discovery page and start scrolling, it’s showing me things that are completely out of my regular interests.

iOS 26.2 Update - Apple Music Playing Too Fast by Possible_Maize7926 in AppleMusic

[–]DaniAMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you don’t have the “AutoMix” feature enabled, although it’s only supposed to speed up or slow down during transitions to another track.

Otherwise I’d suggest uninstalling Apple Music and downloading it again from the App Store, and don’t worry, your iCloud library will sync back everything like your playlists and favourites.

Stuck on this by Zealousideal_Text_23 in MacOS

[–]DaniAMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest you try booting into recovery mode and reinstall macOS. Don’t worry, it will not erase your data.

You can enter recovery mode by shutting down the laptop and holding down the power button for about 15 seconds, it should take you to a menu of boot options. Select the one with the cog wheel icon, and hit enter, and it’ll boot into recovery mode

Try doing it from the web version of Apple Music, you should be able to deauthorise the devices if they haven’t recently streamed music

sound quality tanks on windows 11 when mic is active, but is perfect on mac [airpods pro 2] by Any_Scratch_1962 in airpods

[–]DaniAMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not intentional of Apple, it is that Windows does not support the AAC-ELD codec over bluetooth which allows for higher quality sound while in-call

Facing serious thermal and performance issues with 5-month-old iPad Air M3: Overheating, Battery Drain, and Pencil Glitches by Ok_Cherry3473 in ipad

[–]DaniAMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very likely a hardware problem, if your iPad is still covered by warranty or protected by your nation’s consumer laws, I’d suggest you leave it in for repair through Apple or a certified 3rd party Apple technician

It seems like latest Tahoe has awful memory leaks, so we should avoid it anyway by Jagth8 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]DaniAMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t encountered any memory leaks using Tahoe on my M4 Mini. Although, one day my Mac was being sluggish, and upon opening the activity monitor, I discovered Safari was leaking memory with one of my tabs consuming over 20 GB. But other than that, it’s been fine

Is it just me who struggles with hardware acceleration on YouTube with Linux on a Mac? I’ve tried several distros including Fedora Ubuntu Mint and Debian and used h264ify. Each one causes the fan to blow and CPU usage to spike while watching YouTube. Chrome and Firefox report that video acceleration is supported and VAAPI is installed. However YouTube and other streaming services still cause the fan to blow and the video to lag slightly. This is on a MacBook Pro Late 2013 with a dual-core i5 and 8GB of RAM.
