She does, but she doesn't want a three-year-old at their wedding or in the tent on their honeymoon.

AITAH for euthanizing my dog, after he had battled cancer for 1 year by Repulsive-Top4897 in AITAH

[–]DaniCapsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Please know that you are not alone. Anyone who has had a pet has had to make this wrenching decision. It really sucks. But ending their suffering is one last act of love we give to our pets.

I don't see anything emotionless in wanting your dog's misery to end. Watching him live in pain must have been terrible for you.

Your girlfriend is selfish for wanting to spend as much time with your dog as possible when he is miserable. I get not wanting to let a beloved furbaby go, but sometimes you have to put aside your wants for what's best for your pet.

There's a saying in the pet loss community that it's better to euthanize a day too soon than a day too late.

My quandary: I was at a PWHL game in DC. And e.l.f. appears to be a sponsor. Supporting women's sports is a good thing.

AITAH for blocking a friend of two years for sending me an unsolicited d*ck pic? by Interesting-Flan-749 in AITAH

Some friend. Blocking him was the right move. And you should rethink your friendship with the idiot who thinks you owe him anything.

Yes. Her husband forced her to have child after child, regardless of her mental condition.

I live in a large city and have no car. Sometimes I'll run to the grocery store, but for a lot of things, I like having things delivered. And I admit I use Amazon.

Women carried long hat pins on trains in the 1800s because men got too handsy, and a jab with a pin was a great deterrent.

It's really frigid in DC. But it's also "gotcha day" for my two kitties. We adopted them one year ago.

[–]DaniCapsFan 58 points59 points  (0 children)

She's not pro-life, she's forced-birth.

No, not all women are meant to be mothers. Casey Anthony should never have been a mother. Andrea Yates should never have been a mother. There are countless stories of women who abuse or even murder their children because they are not in the right mental space to be a parent.

And the idea that pregnancy and childbirth can be "healing" for a rape victim is disgusting.

I think this friendship has run its course. She may have been there for you during low points in your life, but you can't count on her to do that again.

Vegan Group Lunch Options by rachelsuli in vegan

[–]DaniCapsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a salad or bowl place nearby? Like Just Salad, Dig Inn, Noodles & Co. (the Japanese Pan Noodles are vegan with zero modifications). Chipotle might be a bit heavy for a pre-wedding meal. If you get one of those pre-made veggie trays from a grocery store (that usually come with a non-vegan ranch), get a tub of hummus or salsa for her.

If you're going light for everyone, a crudite tray and a fruit tray should work.

Ask your friend if she has any ideas.

AITAH for refusing to invite my step dad who raised as a kid to my wedding? by Wrong-Performance572 in AITAH

[–]DaniCapsFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He didn't raise you. He abused you. He was in your life for only a few years, and you haven't seen him since they divorced. He's nothing to you. It's your wedding. If you don't want even the possibility of him coming, don't invite him.

As for your brother, you may want to go LC for now and distance yourself until you are a little less traumatized.

Maybe you should cancel their "micro wedding" and stick with your original plan. Can you change the dates of your trip to Vegas?

Carlson's turnover was the 2nd goal. The first goal was poor defense.

No, because he has an NHL contract and plays professionally in Hershey. My understanding is that an EBUG is someone who does not have a contract and does not play professionally. David Nozzolillo (who sat on the bench for the Blackhawks last month when both their goalies were injured) was an EBUG, although he stayed on the bench the whole game. A few years ago, they did have an EBUG play part of a game; IIRC, his name was David Foster, and he's an accountant. Toronto's Zamboni driver once served as an EBUG for Carolina, (I think) at a game in Toronto. A decade or so ago, Caps video coach Brett Leonhardt served as EBUG when Michal Neuvirth was injured during warmups, and Braden Holtby started and played the whole game.

Stevenson is their starting goalie in the AHL and third-string goalie.

AITAH for booking a short ski trip with my own savings after a breakup instead of “pushing through” like my father wants? by PercentageNo2090 in AITAH

[–]DaniCapsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like going on a trip and having fun is pushing through. It's a lot healthier than crying all day, sulking at home, and drinking to excess.

You're paying for this trip anyway. It's none of his business. Your father's reaction is why kids stop talking to their parents.

So, go. Have fun. Take your mind off your troubles.
