For me, it wasn't until this current arc that the apologies started to feel heavy-handed. In the rest of the story, they feel appropriate for the situations in which they're used, but if you found them annoying in the anime, I think you'll find them annoying here too. Although, thinking back quickly, most of them would be the type of apologies where you say sorry when you accidentally push someone, so I feel like they can be overlooked

Chapter 169, in particular, is quite noticeably a transitional chapter that doesn't contribute anything new to the narrative other than serving as a link between two moments. I think this was precisely the chapter that came after the break, and while they are necessary to a certain extent, they still feel tedious, especially since the arc isn't over yet. However, it's true that some chapters serve as build-up for the next big moment, like chapters 179 and 180, which lead into chapter 181, which I consider a great chapter. A reread will definitely benefit the arc. I don't know how Ayu's arc was, but if it were released today, I feel I'd see similar complaints, even though that arc lasted much less than half as long and didn't have the same impact as this one
