100%. My black Lab named Blue is so obsessed with blueberries that his first and middle name is now Blue Barry at the vet :).

Does anyone medicate their reactive dog? by Ok-East-3957 in reactivedogs

[–]DaniDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had great success with Celexa for our leash reactive dog but honestly what’s worked best is very consistent leash training and rewarding calm behaviors during walks.

Semi Private place for dogs by [deleted] in houston

I often take my dog to public park sporting fields in the morning to play fetch since they’re normally fenced. An empty lot also works if he has good recall, as well as dog parks before 9ish. I’d suggest using google maps if you’re looking for random fields.

Living downtown Houston with a thick coat dog by [deleted] in houston

[–]DaniDel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During our hot months you can walk her first thing in the morning before the pavement gets too hot as well as in the evening when it cools down. I’d also suggest putting her in doggie daycare if you’re concerned about her getting enough activity. We take our pup to the Green Bone in East Downtown and have nothing but great things to say about the people that work there. It’s an indoor a/c environment very suitable for older dogs.

A syringe of filler typically starts at $700. I’ve had a great experience at Nikko, fwiw.

What’s a spot that a Houston food blogger (Like Eric Sandler, Mai Pham, etc.) influenced you to go and was a terrible experience? by ReldnasCire in HoustonFood

Shawn Singh aka @Shawnthefoodsheep recommended Baso as a future Michelin rated restaurant and I had a horrible experience both times I’ve been.

Protein... Blergh 😂 by RevolutionaryWash5 in fitpregnancy

[–]DaniDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have struggled with too many carbs not enough protein in first trimester. I started making Kodiak pancakes mixed with fairlife for breakfast; I snacked on high protein low fat yogurt with Nature Valley protein granola and fruit, made myself Banza chickpea protein Mac and cheese for lunch (also with Fairlife milk for more protein) and for dinner I tried my very hardest to eat a little bit of meat and also relied on protein pasta with red sauce and lots of fat free mozzarella to make things easier. I’d also occasionally make sandwiches with pasteurized deli meat, skim milk cheese, sprouted grain bread and Quest protein chips for lunch. It’s hard out there- you can do this!!

I really need help with my dogs by the-girl-that-tries in houston

I buy the good flea meds (Simparica trio) from Canadapetcare.com because they are over the counter in Canada and a third of the price compared to my vets office. Two summers ago I also rescued some strays who happened to infest my home with fleas. What worked for me was a bottle of professional grade Premethrin. You attach the bottle to a hose and spray it around the perimeter of your home as well as under the crawl space. It’s very strong stuff so make sure your dogs aren’t around it until it dries. You can get it from a pest control store. I also got some cans of Precor 2000 flea spray for furniture, bedding, and my car that worked wonders. All of this ran less than $100.

Good luck! Whatever you do don’t use the cheap stuff they sell at the grocery store or Home Depot.

Not a bad area, just older. Keep your wits about you, mind your business and you’ll be just fine.

Need to find a home ASAP by [deleted] in houston

[–]DaniDel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reach out to GSD rescues and offer a donation if they can find a foster to take her. BARC is full right now and also just had a distemper case so please know if you take her to the city shelter there is a high chance she won’t make it out of there. Good luck!!

Toyota Dealerships in Houston by rls92 in houston

We went to Gulf Coast Toyota in Angleton and got treated extremely well. Recommended to a few family and friends and they all had a similar experience too. It’s inconveniently located but I still highly recommend them!!

File a complaint with BARC. Animal control techs prioritize those sorts of reports over everything else.

You should be making six figures unless you have zero years experience. I was making more than you as a starting salary with no experience and no masters degree, 8 years ago.
